Texas Tech Game Attendance Prediction

Apparently the ticket office isn't expecting a large crowd:

Jr. Cyclone Club Families:

We would like to invite all Jr. Cyclone Club members to “Bring a Friend” to the Iowa State vs Texas Tech football game for free (Saturday, November 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] – kickoff at 2:30pm)!
· All club members will be able to bring more than one friend to join them at the football game. While there isn’t a limit on how many friends our club kids can invite, the friends need to be 12[SUP]th[/SUP] grade and younger of course. Adults must have a game ticket
· I’ve attached a sheet of vouchers for you (example of the voucher is below). Print as many as you need – there are four to a sheet.

Just open the gates to the tailgaters and let them find a seat. What are stubhub tickets going for now?

And that is for both games. Why would anyone ever buy season tickets?

To attend games during the nice weather. The cold weather games have always been an issue in selling them. There will be no seating on the south hillsides. Hillside ticket holders are being told to sit in the student section.......since students will be on break.

A day game with 2:30 kickoff, even though it will be cold. I expect 40k or more for the game against TTech. I know that I will be there.

I think around 30-35k will be there. Honestly I don't think there is a prayer of keeping the 50k streak alive through the season. Also side note, the student section probably will have the lower bowl a quarter full. The last games during breaks have been so pathetic, because so many people go home and don't want to come back.

Isn't last year's Kansas game the benchmark for estimating attendance? I would expect us to match whatever that was.

It's really tough to go under 20k. Saying 30-35k seems about right, but 20k is nearly impossible to sink to.

I hope you're right. If it is less than 10 degrees... phew. I consider myself a diehard, but it would take some extra motivation on my part to get out of bed.

Fair point. The second half #s really could be about anything. If we're losing at halftime, most of the 30-35k I'm thinking of would be gone. If it's a close game or we're ahead, 20-30k for the 2nd half could happen.

^^^this. It won't be as cold as the KU game, and it will be in daylight for the most part. Even if it's cold, it feels warmer when the sun is out.

If a bear sh*ts in the woods, is anyone there to see it?

Tech can score. There defense sucks, but they can score points. This could get out of hand if our defense doesn't show up again. And JTS could look like a ghost town in the 4th Qtr.

announced attendance will be >50k but actual attendance will be around 35k-38k. The weather will not be great and I think a lot of folks know this is a sinking ship;

Ghost town....then jts will resemble the late Jimmie Dean Walden years re Attendance ie Fans in the Stands...It Does Not looke promising.
