Texas Tech Game Attendance Prediction

The student section will be 2/3 empty.

I think it was at least 2/3 empty against OU. I'm in N and looking over there were only a handful of students in the upper deck, so from about the 45 north, the upper deck was completely empty. I'll be surprised if the students fill 1/3 of their lower allotment. Hope they prove me wrong.

I'm more of a 1/3 full type of guy myself. I will be there regardless.

To hear things like "these guys don't deserve our attention" kind of sucks. Yeah this year isn't going the way we wanted, and yeah some of us may or may not want a change and it seems like the only way to make your voice heard is to not show up for the game (or come in the stadium and leave before the game, which sounds stupid to me). But think about guys like Jarvis, Morrissey, Bibbs, and Wimberly etc. who have given us a lot of good memories, even if they are few and far between. Those guys went out there knowing the odds were against them most of the time and battled for their school and team, even playing hurt at times. It is pretty crappy to say that guys like that don't deserve our attention.

It's not like we were expecting a 9 win season out of this team, we knew going in that it was going to be pretty rough. Toss in the attrition we've had throughout the fall and it's no surprise we are where we are. I'm not saying I enjoy it, or think no changes need to be made, but saying these guys don't deserve any fan support is stupid.

With students on break and apparent crappy weather, I will predict around 30,000 for actual attendance.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is more than that though, just because Cyclone Fans are that awesome.

Considering how many on here think the game is this Saturday, that should tell you quite a bit. Still, given the students heading out, (likely) cold weather, coming off bye week (people's minds will wander), etc I would expect actual butts in seats to be around 32-38k. I could see it going as low as 28k depending on the weather, but likely not above 38k even if warm.

Saturday before Thanksgiving for a night game against Kansas last year for a 1 win team and the coldest game ever had about 40,000 people actually there with announced attendance of over 54,000. I expect it to be at least 40,000. And possibly 45,000. Day of tailgating. Not bitterly cold like last year. And a day game. That combines to make it better.

There is no way this is true. There was way less than 40,000. The stands were probably 40-50% full.

I'll be there but I doubt I make it through the whole game with the way we've been playing.

All I know is they need to let all hillsides and upper level people move into lower seats to save face on TV. I'm sure all the SEZ construction will help in this.

ISU better hope for a relatively "warm" day for that time. 10,000 max will show if it ends up being 15 degrees.

10000..... Now you're just sounding stupid.

We had more than 30K back in the early 90's with Walden, when the team was consistently bad almost all the time. If the weather doesn't suck, there should be well north of 40K there. Not sure it reaches 50K though.

How many home games have we won in two years? Two? That will keep the attendance down more than the weather. In fact, I wonder if some tailgaters will stay tailgating at the start of the game to see how it goes before thinking about entering.

An easy 35k to start. However, if the effort is that of the last two games...........you will be lucky to have 10k starting the second half. The honeymoon is over, and no amount of rah-rah-sis-boom-bah is going to smooth over crappy efforts and keep butts in the seats.
