Talked to Brackins -- will decide within days

Will you tell me one game where Craig "worked hard" for an entire game to get position from this season? No you won't, because there isn't one.

And this is how CF says, "Thank you" to Brackins after pleading for him to come back last year...

Don't waste your time coming back here Craig. Get out while you can.

CB, you've earned the right to make the best decision for you and to have the full support of Cyclone fans in whatever you do. Sorry in advance for those that won't respect your decision, either way.

Some may or may not agree with me, but Craig's decision to return for this year puts him in my top 5 Cyclones of all time. He put aside his ego and a big pay check to try and do something that was bigger than himself. Rarely seen these days in a me-first society.

Absolutely! Very rare in today's world. He did it for ISU and that rates him high in my book also.

These.

Craig Brackins is one of the all time great people to play basketball, football, or any sport for that matter at Iowa State. Craig was the least selfish player I have seen play in the last 30 years, yet was as talented as any.

Craig is the ultimate teammate as well. He worked his rear off to hold this team together both on and off the floor. He speaks well, is intellligent, and is extremely talented.

Last year he announced around April 20th ( I remember because I was on vacation). He is the most selfless player we have had in an Iowa State uniform. I sure wish selfishly he would come back, but realistically I don't see it happening either.

Craig...............THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AT IOWA STATE

Re: that one rebound by Pittman over Brackins

Durant also averaged 26 points, 11 rebounds, and shot 40% from 3. He was easily NBA ready, and a pretty clear #1 or #2 pick. I think that Brackins is a certain 1st round pick, but his decrease in rebounds and 20% 3 point percentage are not helping him...

Last year, he was the Man, This year he had more help from Ham rebounding, Dendy scoring and of course Gilstrap rebounding/scoring. Some of his numbers went down because he had more help this year

Craig in this season shot threes better, had more blocks, more steals, more assists and shot 42%. Last year he had two more rebounds (60 plus more) and four more points per game. He just had more help this year and missed 30 shots that would have made him a 47% shooter this year. That shooting drop off was worth little more a point a game. So, He actually was a wash if you look at the total picture of steals, blocks, assists, scoring, rebounding.

Except for his field goal percentage and shot selection being just awful. He was dead last in the Big 12 a few weeks ago in shooting percentage for power forwards. That's not good.

Right, he had the worst percentages in his career. Some of that falls on Greg for not sitting his *** for taking some shots. I know he felt that he needed to be the one carrying the team. I know he felt that burden but I thought we were a much better team when he took what was given to him. I loved how DG, CC, SC and Dendy played together. They really looked like they gel. CB and MG fit in there too when they were not solely looking to score themselves.

Craig Brackins gave 3 years to this program through a lot of ****. He gave up millions last year and I hope he doesn't do it again, which I don't think he will. He always seemed like an all around good guy and a very good representative of the school. Thanks Craig and here's to hoping you don't get drafted by the Clippers.

Classy, even on the bench

You know what I like about Brackins, he is just a classy guy. He gives straight up interviews. He acknowledges when he doesn't live up to expectations. Yet, even when he fouled out against Kansas State, he was still "into" the game. He wasn't sulking about fouling out or not having the year he hoped. He was getting in guys faces to encourage them. He was active in the huddles. I never once saw him hanging his head. He has a great work ethic and a great team ethic. I think he has a great future ahead of him, no matter what he does (and the NBA will only last a short while for all but the very, very best). Based on what I've seen, he is the kind of guy I would like working for me.

He did the Duke game-he didn't take a single play off in that one.
