Just talked to Craig Brackins to confirm or deny the Foxsports.com report. He says that he will in fact announce a decision within days but did not say that he is going pro. Here are quotes.

"I am going to go home, talk to my family and decide sooner than I did last year. I'll just figure out what I need to do The same routine as last year."

Confirmed that he has NOT made a decision yet.

Within a week?

"Probably, yep."

It is what it is, whether he stays or goes, PLEASE STAY, but I thank Craig for sticking around and trying for glory instead of going to the NBA last year.

Agree. Would love to see him back. Bummer that it didn't turn out the way that anyone wanted this year.

CB, you've earned the right to make the best decision for you and to have the full support of Cyclone fans in whatever you do. Sorry in advance for those that won't respect your decision, either way.

Definitively appreciate everything Craig has done and more power to him if he goes pro and lives the dream all bball players have. But for the first time in two years, trying to look at things from a neutral prospective I think it would be in his best interest to come back.

I don't think age would hurt him when looking at the number of years that late first round to early second usually spend in the league anyway. Asumming that is where he is based on projections. If you stick you stick no matter how old you are. I think the better risk would be to come back and try to improve his stock to try and get the guaranteed contract and money that would come with a lottery pick or even a guaranteed first round.

But bottom line is Thanks for everything Craig and we will be rooting for you no matter what the choice is.

Some may or may not agree with me, but Craig's decision to return for this year puts him in my top 5 Cyclones of all time. He put aside his ego and a big pay check to try and do something that was bigger than himself. Rarely seen these days in a me-first society.
Nice post, and I agree 100%, a very rare thing. Craig has been a tremendous ambassador for ISU Basketball.

Loved watching Craig's rookie season my last year at ISU. As a wrestling fan, he was able to reel me into ISU basketball. Even went to quite a few games by myself, which I normally wouldn't do, just to see him play.

Thanks for being a Cyclone CB. You'll always be my favorite, go make ISU proud in the NBA.

Thanks. Good work to follow up and actually get the true facts and story (as opposed to some radio blowhard named matt).

Absolutely! Very rare in today's world. He did it for ISU and that rates him high in my book also.

that one rebound by Pittman over Brackins

as Brackins had him box out very good but he did not get the rebound

that alone should tell Brackins that he is not ready for the NBA and needs to toughen up to play in the NBA

I couldn't agree more. If Craig leaves (and I'll hold out hope until he decides!), I'll miss watching him play at Iowa State, but I will really miss just having him around Iowa State. He was a stand-up guy who represented Iowa State so, so well.

It sucks that the team wasn't able to have more success with him this year. It would really bother me if he regretted his decision.

I agree. If he does stay, I can bet he'll have #21 and his name hanging from the rafters in Hilton.
