Tailgating on Saturday

There may be changes to the parking in those lots with the new Lincoln Way exit and redesign of the spaces. Not sure, though.

Yes, AND the layout and number of parking spaces directly north of Hilton have changed: pull-in parking and more spaces. North entrance allows only eastbound traffic in; and exiting traffic can only go east. This took quite a while after one of the volleyball games this past Saturday -- so much that after waiting in line along the north for an inordinate length of time, I went west in the parking lots to the west side of Stephens, then south and east to University, and was across Lincoln Way north before some of the north Hilton lot vehicles were out.

All we can say is, before MBB starts, there'd better be some traffic attendants who communicate with others AND know what they're doing at the new Hilton north entrance/exit onto Lincoln Way.

15 years of the cluster f that is Hilton traffic management tells me I shouldn't hold my breath on that one. I'm just hoping that redirecting those folks onto LW will help us "po' folk" out of our parking lots without having to wait while the fat cats to exit the close up lots and then head southbound on University. They would let 30-40 out of there, then let about 20 out of the bigger southside lots, then stop us again to let 30-40 more out. Plus we had to avoid flattening the pedestrians heading for their cars.
Now, gimme some cheese to go with my whine! :D

First time tailgating in B4 tomorrow and I’m really pumped. Officially in “first week of March madness” productivity level at work today

Really good forecast on WeatherNetwork. Not to say grass lots won't be closed due to rain Friday night/Saturday morning.

Hopefully the parking people have their stuff together this year. Last year it seemed like every tailgate was a mess; I think it was a different company than years past.

Anyone read the email from Iowa state on game day info ? Donor lots at 7am public at 1. Didn’t think they would open donor that earlier

When you say “Hilton lots” you’re talking the general parking not the donor lots south of Hilton correct

I'm referring to B-1, B-2, C-1, and C-2. In the past, these have not been donor lots for football, though there are some parking passes given to vendors and staff to park there.

They switched parking management companies two seasons ago.

Opening donor lots of 7am is standard for all games. The 6 hours before kickoff only applies to public lots.

Anyone ready for a 3 a.m. finish with multiple rain delays? Not me. Ugh.

And it looks like the rain just continues every single day of the whole next week too. We'll all be underwater.

With the obvious chance of rain tomorrow, I was thinking about getting a canopy tent for the tailgate. I am seeing a lot of 10x10 tents out there. Is that going to be too big and piss off my neighbors? Usually we tailgate grass lots where the spaces between cars are a bit more.
