Tailgating on Saturday

I predict that by 9:00 am on Friday morning there will be an announcement that grass lots are _____________

Fill in the blank

If RVs couldn't park in VetMed due to rain could you move to campus and park in the student/staff lots near the railroad tracks? Those places are empty on the weekends.

Parking could see it as revenue generation since they are still restricted on weekends

In the past they have moved the RV's that want to park in Vet Med to the north side of campus somewhere. We have never parked there cause it is too far from all the festivities.

Last year for the Kansas game, when they shut down Vet Med to RV's, we parked at Baffles Bar & Event center on S 17th. I reached out the individual whose email is listed on their site, but haven't received a response. Their lot was a mixture of gravel and mud so you get your RV pretty dirty, but it works to tailgate.

KCCI's forecast seems favorable. There is a chance of rain Friday morning but they are showing all of the Friday night/Saturday morning rain in northern Iowa and not even coming close to Ames. I imagine the grass lots can handle some rain Friday morning but cross your fingers it doesn't rain too much.

7:00 a.m. or 6 hours prior to kickoff, whichever is earlier. So yes 1

If the grass lots are open, they will most definitely wait until exactly 1:00 before they open the lot. Last year South 16th was a freakin parking lot by 12:30.

Don't give up on the Hilton lots. I've seen them be "closed" to the public because of rain, but then "opened" later in the day when they didn't fill up with displaced donors.

When you say “Hilton lots” you’re talking the general parking not the donor lots south of Hilton correct

There may be changes to the parking in those lots with the new Lincoln Way exit and redesign of the spaces. Not sure, though.
