Sutton fired at OSU

Re: Sean Sutton resigns

This sucks, now they'll go hire a good coach!!! If Self goes to OSU, then it's a double-whammy!!!

I do agree with person who said he got the shaft though, they didn't give him enough time, although I think he would've failed anyway.

Their commit list is extremely unspectacular.

Sounds similar to a McCarney deal. What have you done for me in the last two years?

Maybe Sean will need to take that U San Fran job from his stressed out Dad. California living can be clean. He c ould watch the SF Bay seagulls fly around in the morning if he went West. We would not have to watch his snarl on TV much anymore.

Looks like coaches are not lasting very long in the Big 12 anymore.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. Big money and great facilities are the common denominators in nearly every very successful BCS level DI program.

My point wasn't about the facilities. It was about firing a coach that wasn't doing that badly after only a couple of seasons. Can you name a long term successful program that recycles its head coach every two years?

I think their perception they needed more than a scowl faced coach to reach the next Tier.....really a little Botox might have helped Sean. Maybe they can hire Keno Casino Davis.

A month or two ago, street talk said that T. Boone was interested in Self but even more interested in Bill G (Head coach at Kentucky). Either one is going to take serious cash....
A number of articles are in fact disclosing that the first choice is Bill Gillispie. An interesting facet is that Gillispie has not signed a contract at Kentucky, instead he has been working under a two-page memorandum of understanding that details his compensation package.

I'll agree with you on that (good programs have decent coaching stability)...what is odd is hiring him to start...he was totally unproven as a head coach and probably didn't deserve the job (nepotism is a bad thing most of the time). The point is that the schools with money tend to be able to hire a coach that can make the winning part happen...hence no need to change coaches regularly. Mark my words, they (OSU) will be upgrading with this coaching change...BIG TIME!

That is as true as people who claim Christ will return to earth some day. He is involved. Cm'n Boonie, admit it.

You have a $175M investment and your bball is lower tier.

Just Do It. Spend more oil money and hire Bill Selfish.

Huh? :confused::confused::confused:
