Stanzi getting drafted?

For everyone bashing Stanzi, saying he won't make it in the NFL, you are definitely in the minority. Even Mike Mayock on NFL Network, when recapping the draft the Chiefs had, said Stanzi gives them "their quarterback of the future." Kiper also thought Stanzi was a 2nd round talent. I would say these two men know a little bit more about NFL talent than anyone on this message board.

I remember cyclone fans on here (a very large majority) saying that Stanzi couldn't even hold AA's jockstrap. They said the two were not even close talent wise.

Kiper is a ******* idiot. That guy is wrong more than the weatherman. Why people claim that he has a clue is well beyond me. Anyone notice how his past rankings just disappear so you can't compare how little he knows and how he is wrong, time and time and time again. The guy is a moron.

I laughed my *** off when watching the Draft and Kiper would talk for 15 minutes about who the next team would take and why.

Then Gruden would talk for about two minutes on one guy and say he really thinks X team will pick this guy. And guess what, Gruden would be right and kiper would be wrong.

Again, Kiper is an idiot!

IMO- They are similar in ability and it is very hard to compare. AA would do much, much better in a Pro Set in which he handed the ball off 60% of the time and had time to throw. Stanzi would not look good in a zone read. AA was rarely healthy due to the pounding he took in the zone read. Stanzi had the same simple offense to learn. AA had 4 offenses to learn.

I thought AA looked like an NFL caliber QB when he was playing for McFarland. Not so much with Herman.

Iowa's offense is actually fairly complex.

Didn't ISU run the ball just as much as Iowa did last year? Isn't one of the benefits of being in the shotgun that it often gives the QBs more time since they do not have to drop back and can identify the defense quicker? Isn't ISUs spread offense built to distribute the ball quickly on crossing and in/out routes?

Sorry, but there is not a single person that is not a cyclone fan that would agree with your assessment.

Just stop. One is going to the NFL and the other is bartending.

Not quite. And how many times did stanza carry the ball? Different offense

Your post reels of ignorance.

Bad Banks and Ryan Leaf both went o the NFL, so pardon me I'd I don't consider that a sign of ability.

I am guessing most you didn't see much of AA in his soph year. Nor do you know his injury status. So I am guessing that you can't make an intelligent judgement. AS displayed all the throws his sophistication year. Then he was put in an offense that did not fit his play. That is all I am saying.

Who knows how he would have developed if in the same offense for 5 years. That is why I amsaying it is hard to compare. Stanzi was in the same offense for his whole career. An offense that require him to hand the ball off 65%+ of the tune. Take care of the ball and let the defense win the game. He did it very well.

A 5th rounder doesn't automatically secure a spot...numbn$tts.

Iowa has good drafts over the years, but has sucked at producing QB's for the NFL--- the worst run in the Big 10 the last 50 years. It's not even close.

Heck Iowa State's two 'clipboard' carriers (as Hawk fans like to describe them) have been cashing an NFL paycheck for 10+ years non-stop. Even a 3rd ISU qb guy--Todd doxon, made the Miami Dolphin roster for a short while in the mid 90's.

Scott Mullin (much more highly regarded out of high school than Rosenfels), Tate, Reiner, Brad Banks, Kyle McCann---would give their left nut to SNIFF an NFL paycheck

I would never diss a Hawkeye of earning a living in the NFL......yet Iowa fans still try to diss Seneca and Sage.

whatever......TavernHawks

Its not my fault Arnaud is bartending in Ames and Stanzi is a Kansas City Chief. Arnaud has more upside though, right??? You cyclone fans are great.

Do you think Stanzi will be cashing NFL paychecks as long as Sage and Seneca have? Serious question.

Arnaud was the unfortunate victim of having to go through 3 different coaching staffs in his stay here. He never really had the chance to get settled into a system.

The irony here is pretty great. I kid Taz, I kid.

If you're referring to the typo, I think that can be blamed on a phone. He had some other ones in there ("sophistication year" instead of "sophomore year") that make it hard to believe it wasn't an auto-correct issue.

Are you going to pretend that you know the answer to your own question? Serious question.
