Sseing Des Moines

Why do you think they only options are single family houses on .25 acres or high-rise apartments? the house I grew up on was .08 acres with a corner store, Subway, and Walgreens down the block. We walked their all the time. A public park was down the street if we wanted to go ice skating or play soccer - we didn't need a massive backyard for those things. Everyone should be allowed to move where they want but it's foolish to think there are only two options (in the suburbs there usually is only two options, though). Also don't be fooled into thinking your 100' of road frontage can be supported by your property tax. It's subsidized by new development in a giant ponzi scheme.

.08 acres??? You could open your bedroom window and jump in the house next door. Would be great if she was cute.

Yeah was driving like 10 hours to get pizza in Chicago. Stopped at a bar, broke up a major assault on a lady that was being assaulted. Was harassed by cops. All kinds of stuff. I think at the end of the day we determined he was Batman.

I mean, Denver is a much larger municipality in a very different part of the country.

Des Moines is a crown jewel considering its size and location. IMO it sets a standard for what a mid-sized city in the Midwest should be.

I give Des Moines more credit than that. It seems like you're comparing DM to Fort Wayne, Flint, Omaha and a few polluted cities in Ohio. I guess you could throw Madison in there. Madison's pretty nice.

Sorry about the sarcasm but I really do agree that Des Moines is a bit of a crown jewel.

Yeah if you compare it to cities that are on par with it. Des Moines is pretty good. Can't compare Denver to New York or LA.
