I don't get his logic on the Nebraska thing. Was Iowa State-Nebraska a bigger game than Iowa-Iowa State? I mean, we are/were in the same conference as Nebraska for nearly 100 years. It just depends on the year, but typically the instate rivalry will always be there and be a bigger game.
