Here's my question.....What did Ken do in a past life to deserve Matt and Marty as his leads.....Must have been pretty awful.....Karma is a b--ch....

Where can I get a show? In 3-5 years Nebraska will be irrelevant and Iowa will be firmly entrenched in the cellar of whatever division is cooked up. That's the facts, Jack.

If Perrault really wants to make his ratings soar, start dissing the Hawks. Here's a starter-use the Big Red 5 Nat. champ angle & Iowa 0. That'll be a start. Then let them know ISU beat 'em in their house. That should get things rolling.

:biglaugh::notworthy:

I simply cannot imagine all the fights that will occur at either Kinnick or Husker Stadium when the "GO HAWKS!" crowd runs into the "GOOOOO BIIIGG REEEDDD! GO BIG RED!" crowd.

Back to the topic at hand.

Meh, I could care less. I will admit Matt rubbed me the wrong way with his take on the Hoiberg hiring, and with this latest conference re-alignment issue.

But, I think I could still sit down and have a beer with the guy and talk some sports.

Nope I just listen to him. I don't let what a sports talk guy says about my team affect my life and my attitude, and then come on to a message board whining about it.

Instead, you come on a message board and whine about other people whining...

Everyone here needs to spend a week in NW Iowa to get a taste of what Cyclone bashing is all about. The KXNO shows are like a fuzzy cradle of warm feel good.

I hope it's true but based on what logic?

I dont understand how Matt can honestly think ISU vs Iowa will take a back seat to Fuskers vs Sqwuaks. I mean one of the teams isnt even in the state. This has been a monstrous rivalry for decades, probably as heated and as long as Mich vs tOSU. Some has been program isnt going to supplant us as Iowa's rival.

On the small chance that Matt' reads this --

I appreciate that you said you were wrong (I think on Monday, related to the Big 12 isn't dead). Even in that obvious situation, it is still difficult to say the words, and for that you definitely deserve credit.

I wish I could stop with that paragraph. However, I feel compelled to add something. If you want full credit for admitting that you were wrong, you stop with the admission. It's in poor taste to say:

"I was wrong just like EVERYBODY else."

Reflect on just how much that subtracts from what would have been a true stand-up moment (note -- it doesn't matter how true the statement is).

--Ted

PS -- you should apologize for playing taps. And stop with the "Big 12 lite". Everyone knows it's stupid -- just like the Big 10 has been stupid for longer. Unless you use "Big 10 obese", please stop using "Big 12 lite".

PPS -- commands for new conference names:

1) There shall be no numbers.
2) The word "Big" is not allowed.
3) There shall be no mention of geography.

I have NEVER said Nebraska brings TVs...I said they bring a national brand - which can brings eyes to TV sets around the country....but Omaha is market 72 for TV. That's not TVs. The entire state has 1.9 million people....that's not TVs.

Again, hearing what you want to hear.

2nd - Iowa vs. Iowa State is good for the state. That's just a fact. Iowa vs. Nebraska will be a much bigger game in 3 to 5 years. That's a rivalry, in conference blood hatred. Much different type of game coming to the area than Iowa vs. Iowa State.

Again - if you quote me, quote me correctly.

Reasons why I believe you are wrong on this -EIU/Nebraska thing.

Let's do some math. In the whole state of Iowa, let's say there's 150 hawkeye fans, 100 Cyclone fans, 33 Nebraska fans, and 50 bandwagon fans (30 of which favor the hawks, 15 of which favor the Cyclones, and 5 usually side with Nebraska)

  • Every year, no matter what, for the ISU-EUI game, 300 fans are obsessed with this game. It's a friggin circus all week. hawkeye fans can say all they want that they "don't care" or that "it's Iowa State's superbowl, we just play," but the fact is, their fans and their players want this BAD. The last thing in the world they want is to lose to us, and they know that in the last 10 years, we've won half of them. This game worries them, and they know they can no longer NOT get up for it. It's huge to them.
  • ISU fans of course love this game because we have shown over this past decade that we can compete and win and this would be a great non-conference win for us. It's not the 90's anymore. We more than belong on the same field as the hawks. Only those 33 Nebraska fans don't care about this game.

Now let's take your Nebby/EIU example.

  • 218 think it's a huge game. 115 could care less, they'll be focused on whoever Iowa State is playing. Just like when Nebraska and Iowa State play now - it's a HUGE hated rivalry, one in which ISU has been competitive in the last 8 years (winning 3 of 8). But guess what - not one single hawk fan gave a sh!te about it. And why would they? Iowa State fans aren't going to give a sh!te about the husker/hawk rivalry. That's a big chunk of the state that literally doesn't care. I know I won't care. I know my Cyclone buddies won't care. Will the "state of Iowa " care a little bit more? Sure, a little, because there are a few more hawk fans.
  • I also wouldn't be one bit surprised if Nebby fans are more excited about the other potential rivalries than they are Iowa. Wisconsin has specifically been mentioned (and hell, why not? They can duke it out for who has the right to wear that uniform) and NU fans will be salivating to play OSU and Michigan. There's also the goofers who are pretty close too...

So in summary, the Iowa-ISU game will still be the biggest game in the state in 3, 5, or whatever years. Conference affiliation doesn't matter.

And since my other post got lost in the shuffle, here is my rant about the "misquote" that occurred yesterday on the M&M program. I feel like I am spot on here...

Matt admitted(via PM) that he isn't being truthful about his memory of what he said and didn't say.

why are you even on here?

Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders.
Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:
  • Believing that you're better than others
  • Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
  • Exaggerating your achievements or talents
  • Expecting constant praise and admiration
  • Believing that you're special and acting accordingly
  • Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings
  • Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
  • Taking advantage of others
  • Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
  • Being jealous of others
  • Believing that others are jealous of you
  • Trouble keeping healthy relationships
  • Setting unrealistic goals
  • Being easily hurt and rejected
  • Having a fragile self-esteem
  • Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional
Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others.

When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don't receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may insist on having "the best" of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.
But underneath all this behavior often lies a fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.

You my friend, are a joke. I never said anything like that to you. And that will be the last time I take a PM from you. Get real.

TedKumsher, does this answer your question as to whether he'll read this or not?

He saw it the moment you posted, this is his life, this is where he gets all his material.

He just didn't respond because your post made too much sense.
