No, Iowa vs. Nebraska will be the biggest game in the state of Iowa in 3 to 5 years. I stand behind that and have said that since this talk of NU in the Big 10 started. That doesn't mean that Iowa vs. Iowa State should go away.

Nope, it won't. You are wrong my friend. I believe this partially because I see ISU rising in the next 3-5 years to where they could be *gasp* a favorite when in Ames. I just don't see IA vs. Nebraska overcoming that game IN IOWA. Of course it will on a national level, but not in Iowa. That is the only big sporting event both Hawkeyes and Cyclones get excited over. All energy goes into it. Contrary to what some Hawks will say, that is a big game to them. They do not want to lose to us and it is getting to a point where they know they could lose, only adding to the fire.

Your opinion certianly doesn't mean it will happen, we all know that, it's a fact.

Guys, he doesn't care what you think of him. He is not gonna change how he does his show. That's why he doesn't answer legit questions or gripes like the first post in this thread. He only addresses misquotes of which he has proof he is right or people who just take crazy personal shots at him.

Accept that and then decide if you want to continue to listen to him.

Nice try Giggles . . come to a Cyclone board at 11 p.m. to stir the crap. You sir have serious issues.

2nd - Iowa vs. Iowa State is good for the state. That's just a fact. Iowa vs. Nebraska will be a much bigger game in 3 to 5 years. That's a rivalry, in conference blood hatred. Much different type of game coming to the area than Iowa vs. Iowa State.

I don't know a single Iowa fan that feels this way. I know plenty of Iowa fans that will say this to Iowa State fans to jab them, but they don't feel this way. If it is such a big rivalry, what has stopped them from playing each year? Nothing. Rivalry comes from hatred, tradition, and history...not convenience.

Some of you should just be happy that these guys spend a career getting paid at a entry level... I find solace in this alone. My teenage niece makes more than him interning...

I agree. I'm new to CF and had never heard of him before he was mentioned here. It seems like whenever one of us get involved trying to defend ISU they are simply giving him what he wants. Stop making him a relevant entertainment/news source.

As the talk and then the reality of "conference re-alignment" began to hit home, it was apparent that the Cyclones had a knife in their back. If the Big XII did indeed fold we had few visible options. People like MP saw the knife and rather than try to show that ISU was good enough to be fixed up, or call the ER for us, he (and they) chose to push the knife in as far as they could. And twist it. His take was we bring nothing to the table, we aren't worthy of a BCS conference, forget your pride in your team and school and take what C-USA offers, it will be the best you deserve. The absolute glee in his voice when pontificating on ISU's athletic demise was impossible to mask. Rather than help take the knife out, he hoped the wound would be fatal. Mr. Perrault, perhaps ISU has not been as sucessful as the lords of the football realm, but a lot of us love the Cyclones every bit as much as their fans do.

I have NEVER said Nebraska brings TVs...I said they bring a national brand - which can brings eyes to TV sets around the country....but Omaha is market 72 for TV. That's not TVs. The entire state has 1.9 million people....that's not TVs.

Again, hearing what you want to hear.

Your unbelievable. You just don't get it.

I totally agree. SOOO true. This being a conference game changes things greatly.

The arrogance of both fan bases is incredible. I will love seeing these two butt heads.

Unfortunately Nebraska beat the living crap out of us for most years. We really never had a chance to make it a rivalry. Rivalries are so much more intense when the series goes back and forth from its beginning. ISU only was able to hand Nebraska a couple losses ever.

First post here but been reading this site for a while and listening to your show...I agree with everyone on here. What you say may or may not be correct, but they way the cyclones troubles and worries make you as giddy as a 14 year old seeing his first naked lady is completely unprofessional considering your in central Iowa. Isn't that where most of cyclone nation is??? You keep saying we hear what we want to hear...well thats exactly what you do.

Why do so many people here listen to this Matt guy, then talk about him on this board, and debate with him on this board.

He must be very good at what he does, because he seems to have a huge audience in cyclone fans.

I agree and this is why i could see the rivalry eventually forming. I think this idea that they will be rivals is based on both playing equally in the beginning, but what if Nebraska or the Hawks dominates the series from the start?

Here's what I am starting to think. Nebraska (the State) takes McDermott off our hands which opens up Hoiberg opportunity. Nebraska (kinda like Iowa's Ronnie Harmon in the Rose Bowl) mysteriously turns the ball over and allows us to win our last trip to Memorial Stadium. Nebraska has a snit, takes their bat and ball and leaves the Big 12 allowing us more money and one less heavyweight on our schedule. BUT we have to take Perrault. I do not know if it was worth it.

My one issue.....and I don't generally listen or perhaps I'd have more, is the derogatory name that you were using for the Big 12 yesterday. I can't remember what it was for the life of me, and I don't want to misquote, but it seemed extremely silly in light of the fact that it was playing on the fact that it's a 10 team league called "12". Perhaps you've been ridiculing the Big 10 for years for their 11 teams?
