First of all, I never said I would go up and give them a hug. That's creepy.
Second, we didn't literally point a gun at them, but that doesn't mean they didn't have any reason to be angry at us. That was a pretty ignorant statement.
So animals in nature undermine each other with love. I'll remember that next time I see two bull elk fighting. I will watch and wait for one to offer the other a flower and a hug so he can go breed all the waiting cow elk.

I haven't witnessed it with terrorists, but I have read articles from what I feel are reliable sources.
It's fine to be kind to people as long as they know it they try anything we will kill them.
So why were they angry enough with us to put two passenger jets into the World Trade Center towers, one into the Pentagon (which has been speculated to have not been the original target, but a target of convenience as they weren't going to hit the assumed target of the White House/Capitol), and one into a Pennsylvania field (that was destined to end up in the other Government building that the other plane was supposed to hit)?

I think you guys should back off of cyclonemaniac7. I once gave a butterfly to a serial rapist and he was so moved that he went and reported himself to the police once he realized the horrible things he had previously committed. You just have to believe and try hard enough.
Uh, cart before the horse here. Your friend is being shot at everyday by 'terrorists' because he is INVADING ANOTHER COUNTRY. Would you not do the same thing if the US were being invaded? Now that Bin Laden is dead, the troops can come home.

I support American troops home or abroad, but killing one terrorist doesn't win the game. This was a major step in CONTAINING the group. But, the bad thing with terror is that someone can always step in and fill their shoes. The game is never "won" but can be a stalemate. It does send a huge message though.

From what ive gathered, the taliban was the dominant group at the time, but its not like they were a democratically elected group, nor was there a lack of internal opposition. They won control of most of the country with substantial assistance both financial and in manpower from foreign countries, especially pakistan, and Al Qaeda was fighting alongside the Taliban for control of the country.

That dominant power was working alongside with, and protecting OBL. There was no alternative but to take them out.
