South EndZone

I actually would like to see students moved to the SEZ when it gets built, a la Wisconsin.

Problem with putting the student section in the end zone is they will be too close to the visitor's section. I don't think the administration would like the pending issues. I may be wrong but I also think there may be some conference rules in regards to student section proximity to the away team and fans.

If you move the visitors section to the old student section then they would be opposite the away team. If you flip the sides of the teams then you have the away team facing the cameras (not good for our branding).

You can add capacity without building a thing, remember. How many "seats" are currently in each section row of JTS? Reduce the width by 1" or 2" and you might be able to add a significant number of seats throughout the stadium, good sections and bad. And it costs virtually nothing to the AD.

I agree. Screw the fans, let's jack up our numbers!

Repainting the numbers closer together was done in a previous Kinnick "expansion". Later undone supposedly.

they should do it in 2 phases

phase 1: bowl in the entire lower deck but make it possible to add another deck on top of it for phase two and move the students into the end zone.

phase 2: can be completed anytime in the future-- put another deck on top, however they want to do it. (Enclosing both sides or just another deck)

Phase one alone decreases attendance by several thousand so I have doubts if doing it in phases is the prudent thing to do. (ends of east and west side are cutoff to round off SEZ on lower level and you lose hillside seating)

according to blueprints, BOTH decks combine for 54,900 seats w/ the upper deck being 6,600 of them. Take that away, you have 48,100 seats and two hillsides.

Our press box is so small. The current SEZ bleachers look high school-ish. Even K-State has found the funds to expand. If we want to be part of the big picture equation, the time is now.

Ag and Engineering alumni notoriously cheap/

good luck

Solution? Bowl the whole sucker in and make it 3 decks high. Go big or go home.

It would be awesome if one side had a press box/club level similar to the new one at Arrowhead. I also hope that when the south endzone upper deck is added it is steeper than the sideline decks to make that endzone crazy loud. Maybe next year we can copy the Redskins unis instead of USC's.

i dont think they want to move the students. the band stays with the students and vice versa. And i just think they dont want to move the band from their current spot. Also i think the closer the students are to all that sound from the megatron is the way it should be.

That is actually a bad idea. Packing in additional people so they have a miserable gameday experience is not a good solution IMO. Are you planning on buying all new seatbacks since the old ones will not work anymore and you will need to special order new ones.

What is next, narrowing the aisles so we can get another seat or two and no one can get in to their seats that are too narrow to sit in anyway?

Agreed. The seats are close enough as it is. Not a problem for me but there is no way the majority of our fans would be able to fit in them if they were closer. Just saying.

I think the hillsides are great the kids can play football and and and.............yeah bowl it in sometime.

People in our row already bring an extra adult to sit in their couple seats (fit 3 people into 2 seats); shrinking seats would be a terrible idea.

This is getting ridiculously overplayed now. These are remakes of our 70's jerseys, and they are different then USC's jersey now (Maroon vs. Cardinal, two-stripes vs. one stripe, etc.).... Just shut up.
