I learned a rule nuance yesterday. I didn't realize that on a flagrant you get both technical shots even if the shot is made. I expected Monte was going to be shooting one after the flagrant 1 rather than two. Talk about a huge possession, ISU got 6 points on that trip - Monte lay up, Monte FTs and Abdel FTs.
That flagrant was the right call but the rule itself bothers me. Nader got one earlier in the year for grabbing some guy's shorts instead of just shoving him into the upright or something. It just seems odd to penalize people more when they foul in a way that isn't going to hurt the opposing player.
