Agree, I like a lot of Andy's What's Bugging Me segments but he was all wet last night. It's like he suddenly became a hawkeye fan and so the Rose Bowl and Cyclones over Hawkeyes in basketball never happened. That's the only way he could make last night's segment make any sense.
Yep. Hoping for another late season collapse from the Hoks like a couple of years ago. I miss those days.
I'll say this.
Sears needs to go. No reason he's on a program like WHO, a rather high quality news outlet. He would be much better writing for Jon Miller or Black Heart Gold Pants. And I don't intend to be rude when saying this, but when I just picture a ******, his face is exactly the type of face I picture.
As for Andy...he said in 2011 the tide was changing, and soon Iowa State would be the powerhouse school of the state. Obviously, he's one who likes to do what's popular. He will say whatever is "hot" at the moment. After all, that's his job.
Bottom line, Andy is great for WHO. I really didn't think his "What's Bugging Andy" segment was great this week, because literally nothing was bugging Andy, it was just more of an "I Think" segment. That being said, he's a fun news caster and great journalist. Iowa is lucky to have him.

Also, for some reason, Iowa media acts like falling apart now is like the sky is falling.
They were all over the Hawks balls during the 2013-2014 season when they were 19-6 in the middle of February. Then they lost 7 of their next 8 and didn't even make the NCAA tournament.
I'd much rather have our rough patch now then later on in the year.
(PS, we were 19-5 at that point in the season. Chris Hassel claimed no teams in the Big 12 would make Final Four, but 5 teams in Big 10 could, including Iowa, who ended up not dancing.)

The difference between Cowherd and these WHO tools is that the Iowa fan base must be a minimal percentage of his audience compared to the Cyclone fan base in central Iowa. The best response to these media Hawks is to quit paying any attention to them.
They used to be funny, when Fales and Hassle were on the show. Even if they are Hawk shills, they were funny.
Now it's the Hawk hand job show.
I'll sometimes watch it when ISU beats Iowa, just to see how they backpedal.
The only reason I watched What's Bugging Andy this week was because of this thread.

This has been the thing bothering me the most. I used to be a loyal listener and defender of Murph and Andy but over the last year I don't know if it's fun listening to the back handed put downs anymore. They fall over themselves defending Iowa's pathetic football attendance this year yet bashed ISU's student basketball attendance last year and the year before.
Also, Andy seems to be bearing the brunt of the disappointment in this thread, but if we're talking condescending, Keith has been the captain of that lately.
Hawk fans don't understand in the slightest. Because they've never had to live with hawk fans themselves.
ISU fans have heard the same thing over and over from hawk fans, particularly with football. "Why do you cheer for a team that loses all the time?"
Because it's not about making the easy decision and rooting for whoever's winning at the time. I could have easily switched my allegiance to hawk football, Duke or UNC basketball, and the New England Patriots. But I'm not a completely shallow d-bag, so I didn't do that.
What would the world be like if no one gave a crap about a team unless they were winning? Half the NFL would be contracted because no one would every root for the Browns, Buccaneers, Lions, or any other team that regularly has losing seasons.
But some people aren't shallow jack *****. They show up for their team win or lose. Yes they hope there will be wins in the future, but they don't burn their tickets and jerseys if they are disappointed.
Yes, it would be much easier if I just rooted for Iowa, but I love MY team.
What would Andy do if his beloved Hawks went into the tank for 10 years after Kirk retires? He seems like the type that would stop rooting for his team until they went bowling again, all the while swearing he was always loyal.
And guess what. The "blue highways" have a pretty good record against I80 over the last several years, in BOTH sports.
Yeah, Keith used to kind of be the "voice of reason" but it's a lot easier to just lube up his hand for the hawks.
