True, and I'm also not necessarily expecting Kane to do it either. She was a redshirt as a freshman, so that'd be six years at ISU.I would be very surprised if MEM would take a Covid year considering all of the issues she has with her legs. I am just hoping that she can somehow get healthy for next year.
I'm guessing that isn't the primary starting lineup but I hope we do see the twin towers on occasion. If, IF, we land Kennedy Brown, we are a Final 4 team.
Ryan
Donarski
Joens
Brown
Soares
Fritz
MEM
Diew
Kane/Jordao step in when Brown and Soares need water

Is our one woman prep class good enough to get the backup PG minutes?
If she can be effective for 20 minutes a game, it would be fantastic. Give a change of pace and 5 more post fouls to give.Seems like she has very good sense of what is happening around her. Didn't get much sense of how she can handle more physical play. I predict that she will improve greatly from last year to next year. Our coaches and other players will bring out her best, especially as she doesn't have to be best player on her team.
Someone needs to teach her the southern saying, “well bless your heart”Given her background saying "I'll pray for you" might be more appropriate... and sting more lmao.
Seriously so excited for her to be a Cyclone.
People are forgetting Fritz. She was starting at the beginning of this last season. No reason to think she might not start this next season. If she can handle the ball and play decent D, I can see CBF using her to lower Ryan’s minutes just slightly, but we’ll see.
Over who?People are forgetting Fritz. She was starting at the beginning of this last season. No reason to think she might not start this next season.
We have plenty of space available for 22-23. The 23-24 season is the one that has fewer openings, but Soares doesn't affect that since she's only here for one season.Fennelly picks up another weapon. Is Soares filling the Aubrey Jones scholarship?
I don't think the online guide is that terribly far from the pronunciation of Suarez. The vowels might have a different flavor but they both use the latin 'r' (like a softened English 'd').Intuitively I thought the same thing even knowing that Brazil speaks Portuguese. It wouldn't be out of question that the on-line guide I link is incorrect.
She was a starter in the spot occupied last season by Diew/MEM/Aubrey. I don't know whether Diew or Fritz will be the starter at the beginning of the season, but I expect both to get plenty of minutes. Fennelly is clearly very high on Fritz, and Diew really came on strong toward the end of the season.Over who?
Just getting the big 3 5-7 minutes even would be huge. She was a starter in the spot occupied last season by Diew/MEM/Aubrey. If everyone is healthy and Dawkins can be counted on for PG minutes, the rotation might look something like this:
PG: Ryan 32, Dawkins 8
2G: Donarski 32, MEM 8
3G/W: Joens 32, Diew 6, MEM 2
4G/W/PF: Fritz 20, Diew 12, Vick/post player 8
P: Soares the primary starter, but minutes shared with Kane/Jordao/Zingaro depending on matchups/hot hand
Step one is getting BF to trust the reserves enough to let Ryan/Donarski/Joens take more frequent breaks.
Over who?
That's the best gift ISU can give Joens for her returning for another season. She needs to keep improving her perimeter skills (which are already very good) for her future WNBA prospects. She can still pick and choose times to post up, but she needs to develop and show off her perimeter skills and mid-range game. Sticking on a WNBA roster is extremely difficult (way fewer roster spots than in the NBA) and acting more like a 2G on offense will help.Even before the addition of Soares, I was expecting them to play bigger next year with Diew playing more at the 4 and Joens playing more at the 3.
