I posted this in another thread and I hope they don't do it but...they should fire Fran and hire TJ. He's a young, up and coming coach who plays a fun style and has proven ability to recruit to the state. Also, I'll bet they could get him on the cheap. I was going to post that SDSU is in first place in the Summit but I see they lost to SD last night.

I'm sure Iowa feels that they are above hiring directly from the Summit league and for that I'm grateful, but someone is going to give TJ a P5 job soon.

I just read an article on blackheartsgoldpants saying that mad fran doesn’t have a point guard because other teams cheat, basically.
How many times to they mention that they came in second for Tyler Ulis, despite Tyler's own statement to the contrary?

At the end of 2024, its more than likely that Connor may be cutting his teeth as an up and coming assistant coach. Maybe Fran would hire him as an heir apparent?

McCaffrey Infinite Loop!

Contract appears to have been signed & finalized on Nov, 29th. That is after the Cayman Islands and the blowout road loss to VT. Nice.

This is the part I can't get over. Fran walks into your office after losing to Louisiana Lafeyette, South Dakota State and getting absolutely rolled by an average Va Tech team. You're coming off a year where you miss the tournament, following a year where you peak way to early and squander away a talented team to a 2nd round tournament defeat. Your last 3-4 recruiting classes are total flops. There is literally zero concern someone else will consider hiring him away from Iowa. What part of that screams increased buyout? What negotiating leverage could he have possible had?

Also, when you have a ten million dollar buyout, and your current contract is for $2.25 million a year-- what incentive do you have to do well? You've literally incentivized getting fired over winning.

Have we ruled out Barta trying to actively sabotage Iowa? That's about my only conclusion at this point.

Has to be the final nail in the coffin for any guys who were thinking about transferring, doesn't it? They're looking at a virtual certainty that Red Face Fran is going to be their coach for at least the next two years.
