Seth Greenberg: Monte Morris #1 PG

Monte Morris is the man! But I recall people on here and twitter calling Greenburg a complete idiot and a failure of a coach after his McKay comment, funny how that changes once he kisses our azz.

What he said was almost the complete opposite of what Fred was saying about McKay right around the same time. He was an idiot for saying it, and he wasn't a good coach. I don't see anyone in this thread kissing Greenburgs ***.

Given that both his three-point and free-throw percentages are down, I'd guess the main culprit is fatigue. I'd be okay with Naz running the point and Thomas or BDJ being the shooting guard while Monte gets a rest. I like that option much better than putting Custer on the floor.

Seth is a tool of ESPN. He gives a strong take no matter how he actually feels.

Morris is not the #1 PG in CBB.

I'm curious who you would say is. I haven't paid a ton of attention to talking head PG ratings, but Greenberg has Monte #1, Gottlieb had him #3, Myron Medcalf #4, and Jay Williams #5. So it's not completely ridiculous to put him #1.

I'm not a talking head, but give me Wright from Utah. If Monte starts making more shots, I may change my mind.

I get the PAC network here in Denver, and Williams-Goss is also really good in the same style as Morris. Probably better.

Is there a reason Jerian Grant from ND doesn't get more love on these lists? His stats are pretty eye popping.

I thought it was interesting that Jay Williams called out the team defense as the reason he wouldn't put Monte that high. I always thought that good offensive teams have a top flight point guard running things, and good defenses have top flight centers running things. I can't really think of too many top flight defensive point guards that have an ability to change the entire game on the defensive side. Hopefully McKay can have that kind of impact on our defense, although I think our D has improved soundly with just about everyone who gets regular minutes being above average or better on D, with Niang and Thomas being the only ones that you could argue are below average on that side of the ball.
