Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

No clue, I stick to Rivals.
I haven't been there either. Do they have a rivalry forum? Don't worry, I won't post on an Iowa site, just curious if there are rational points of view over there. I've read the HN stuff and wow there are some crazy people over there.

They do, but not very active. There are some rational posters, but like any fan message site there are a fair share of retards as well.

I don't think they missed the timeout call honestly. Ellingson dribbled himself into a big time trap, on the road and in front of Minnesota's bench. He put himself in a position for the ref to not be able to hear him
Wrong again-just admit you didn't see it and move on. And you're not good at evaluating talent. See, I can do it too

247 does not have a very active board. Rivals has the most active Iowa message boards by far... then HN.

I don't recall anyone saying anything close to that. I think the majority of Iowa fan's were just happy to get to any type of postseason play that year. It was Gatens' senior year and a lot of fans were just happy that he got to experience post-season play, even if it was only the NIT.

Sorry, this was a common narrative by Hawk fans then. They had a young team and they argued it was better to make a decent run in the NIT rather than be a one-and-done in the NCAA tourney. It was argued on this site, the Hawk sites, ESPN boards, and in-person. We all heard/read this narrative a lot.

They had a game earlier this year, (Minnesota I think?) where everyone in black was complaining that the refs obviously gave the game to Minnesota. I don't know if it was a true hosing or not, cause I didn't care, but I remember seeing some articles being posted by Hawk "reporters"
They did. I go back and forth on pulling for the university to the east, but that actually made me a little mad. They got absolutely hosed...the Minn player tied up Jok (i think?) but he was standing out of bounds. there were several bad calls in that game, but that was by far the worst, and I'd say that it reasonably cost them the game.

Yeah, there was a video posted earlier in this thread. I don't disagree that it was poor officiating. But as I said earlier as well, it could have been avoided. If that would have happened to Iowa State, I would have been pissed. Both at the refs and then at our player who put himself in that situation.

that's very true, however, the call was bad enough that I don't like to push it off on the player. Sure, the player could have made a better read and not put himself there, but there's a trained adult standing right there to make sure the OTHER player wasn't doing anything illegal, which he clearly was. I get your point, but that was horrid and I'd say reasonably cost them the game.

I agree.I said at the time now I know what ISU feels like. And it did probably cost us the game.

Dozens of posters in this thread (many who were banned then changed their name) have said this for 8 years in a row now and been laughably wrong every year. It's the reason this thread is so long. Laughing at Iowa fans jealousy and irrational delusions and being wrong year after year after year.

It's finally possible next year, but it's still only something like a 50/50 shot. Iowa is loosing their only dangerous scorer, bringing back a talented sophomore forward and the rest of their team I'd frankly rather pass on and roll the dice with other players. Lindell Wiggington could very easily be the best player on either team, I'll actually be surprised if he isn't. Most likely scenario is both teams miss the NCAA next year, not Iowa winning the Big Ten like threads I see on your sites.

Spot on only change I would make is the Wiggington will be best player on either team and Young will be the 2nd best.

Francis hurts his team far more than any ref.

I dont know about that, he is shooting 52% from the field and rarely shoots from beyond 12 feet.

Some of his shots are tough and contested but he is fairly successful around the rim.

Cook has 2 dunks, 2 forced missed bunnies, and 2 turnovers in the 1st half. This precisely what I told you he's been doing all season and right on cue he proves my point.
