Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Cook is more gifted offensively, Young is much better defensively. This year Young probably fits ISU better but that doesn't mean he's better

If you could have one or the other for 4 years, who do you pick?

I think Cook has more raw talent, but man does he make some bonheaded plays, hes also not quite as physical inside as I thought and he tries to force his shot too much.

I know he's only a freshman but his basketball IQ also doesn't seem very high. Solomon has really impressed me in this regard this season also compared to Cook.

Again, I think it depends on who coaches him. Neither would be very successful under Fran. Cook would probably have a better career than Young under CSP. But Cook will never be great under such a poor coach.

Agree. If Iowa had a real coach, maybe this could improve. But Franny will just get red faced and stomp his feet like a child while the Hok fan base praises him for his "passion".

I dont know about that, he is shooting 52% from the field and rarely shoots from beyond 12 feet.

Some of his shots are tough and contested but he is fairly successful around the rim.

You could be right, Ive watched about 1/3 of Iowa's games so I dont know all the details. The times I have seen him in there he always shoots when he gets the ball in the post and misses alot of them. This is when he's not turning the ball over also.

He also gets way better looks and isn't a focal point because he has way better guards and better players around him.

You forgot to answer my question earlier. How is Oklahoma bad and Iowa is average but Oklahoma would be favored on a neutral court?

He can't answer it because he doesn't want to admit that Iowa would very clearly be 10th in the Big 12. I'm glad they are in the weak Big 10 so Fran can stick around for awhile.

Young is shooting 64% against a much tougher schedule

Thats because Solomon knows his role and only shoots when he has a high percentage shot. Cook forces stupid shots because thinks he needs to carry the team when all he needs to do is make sure Jok gets the ball.

You must watch a lot of Iowa Basketball.
Not really, but that's how it appears to go on the few games I have watched. I like watching an occasional game with my Iowa friends and making fun of them when they call Fran a good coach.

I don't know the figure honestly(was kind of talking out of my ass). Point is that he plays in one of the top leagues in Europe and the top league in Italy. Lega Basket Serie A.
Not in the top 70 of any of the major statistical categories, other than being upper 50s in rebounding. Ejim and McGee are in that league as well, I saw.
