Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

So the reason Iowa is so young and bad this year is because Fran struggled to recruit in 2014 and 2015?

I can't understand why recruits wouldn't want to play for this guy.

I like Tyler Cook and would gladly take him in an ISU uniform.
He has had a couple of good games statistically that I haven't seen, but the games I have seen he puts his head down and tries to bull his way to the basket. He also isn't a great at rebounding or defending the rim. I would rather have Young.

I pray that this thread will eventually get back on track. The current crop of trolls have taken it to high-school level discourse.

Yes that has certainly hurt us this year. Too many misses in '14 and '15 were bad years recruiting for Iowa.

How are ISU '14 and '15 classes looking for next year. Should have some quality Sr and Jr ready to take over next year, right?

Put Cook on this team, with a good coach, and I think you'd see a lot more development and consistency. He's trying to do too much on a "average" team, and it shows.

Under Fran's tutelage I have a feeling he will show marginal development but still be one of their better players the next few years. He could prove me wrong though.

Wow is this serious? Cook was a top 75ish players with offers from everyone. He is averaging over 10 PPG and was slowed for weeks with a broken finger. You have to be a big Clone homer to want Young over him. Twins would you rather have Young over Cook?

Excellent points. He seems to have a lot of physical ability, but he has a very mediocre coach that probably won't be able to maximize his potential.

We had a coaching change but yes I expect to have some quality Jr and Sr players next year
