Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

In basketball I would say ISU has two Rivals. KU first and then Iowa. For Iowa they have one and it's ISU

ISU fans don't get to decide who Iowas Rivals are. Like I said our Rivals are Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ill and Nebraska. I hate them in football, basketball, heck any sport.

That's too bad you don't consider Iowa a "rival". Pizzes me off when I hear 'Clone fans say that, because I love getting up for this game and consider it one of the 1-2 top games of the non-conf season.
Maybe your attitude crept over to the coaches and players and explained why we got our butts kicked by a bunch of average freshmen, who out-played two grad transfers - who were on a team with a preseason AA PG, in a game we never once had the lead, because we got out-coached when Fran recognized how incompetent and unprepared we were to run an offensive set play. Yeah, I'm butt hurt we lost when we clearly had the talent, but not the attitude to beat them.
Look CyTwins, I appreciate your research and diligence to homework the recruiting trail, but you seem kinda brow-beating arrogant about Iowa; I know what you're doing with the "superbowl" comments, because I got pizzed when hearing that from Hoks after we beat them in FB, but let's not act like them, and for Gawd sakes, let's get fired up for that game - don't be surprised to see them favored to win in Hilton next year .

ISU vs Iowa is a good rivalry. Iowa peps are too nice though and it doesn't get as dirty and low down as lots of other rivalries. For the most part you just gotta listen to a few people crow for longer than they should is about all when you lose to them. I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing about the game in Carver this year and Hawk fan gets tired of hearing from ISU fan when you guys win.

Nobody outside of Iowa State views you guys as a rival in basketball and we don't even consider you our top rival. Sorry the truth hurts

Actually, no one is worthy of being Iowa's rival. They are without peer. No other school gets anywhere near Iowa's level. Iowa should just be removed from the NCAA and placed in a one-team category of greatness.jimlad.png

There's nothing more meaningless than non-con in our current conference situation. It's a race to 9 wins in conference to get to the tourney.

Iowa doesn't have a main rival in any sport. In order of rivalry for FB and BB I would go with:

FB
1) Wisconsin
2) Minnesota
3) Nebraska
4) ISU
5) Michigan

BB
1) Wisconsin
2) Minnesota
3) Illinois
4) ISU

But whether or not those teams feel the same way is another story.

They don't in basketball, nobody in your own conference views you as a rival in basketball

You don't seem the like the type of fan who buys season tickets.
I completely disagree; I get up every time my team puts on their jerseys; and when they play Iowa in December, I'm not thinking about Dance in March, I'm in the moment and want to beat them like a Chicken Cutlet. ...I just wish Iowa would get rid of their stoopid rule prohibiting games played the weekend before dead-week; and get back to playing these rivalry games on Sat nights...

Is this why your protected rival was Purdue? Most of those schools you mention are indifferent about iowa. Minny considers whisky. Nebby thinks they are bigger than you. Illinois is probably right, seeing how the smarter Illinois students got in and the rest went to Iowa.

You seem kind of obnoxious, from previous posts and this moronic comment. I care about my 'Clones and I consider Iowa a rival, maybe you don't. Here's my pic from the game last Mon in Lubbock - not bad seat for a troll,, heh? I'm a long-time 'Clone.

I want to beat Iowa in basketball every year by 50 more than the next guy, but I would much rather beat Kansas in Allen Fieldhouse by 1 every year instead. Not that Iowa isn't still a rivalry, but Kansas is way better and far more impressive of a win

I'm also a long-time clone and I'm a troll. What are you trying to prove?

What were the t-shirts made for Iowa wins against Wisky, Minny, and Nebby? I must have missed those.

I bet if you asked Kirk or Fran they would say different.

Not sure on Fran, Kirk has proved it's the biggest game by all the things he does to gets his players pumped up before their big game. If you want to talk about that you can start about it in the football thread but it's been proven that's Kirk's biggest game
