Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

You don't know who we're bringing in do you? We'll be more talented next year for sure and we have the better coach

I know that MSU returned little to nothing from last year, brought in an ELITE recruiting class (#10, 20, 29 & 41 ranked recruits last year) and are nowhere near what they were last year. MSU is having one of the worst year for MSU in the last decade.

You class is decent coming in, but it is a shadow of what MSU brought in this year, and they are way down from last year. It isn't easy to only return as little as MSU did and what ISU will be returning.

When ISU lost Kane and Ejim, you still returned 5 player getting over 10 MPG (Niang, Hogue, Naz, Morris and Thomas). ISU returned 47.7 PPG, 19.2 RPG, and 10.5 APG

This year ISU lost Niang, Nadar, and McKay, but still returned 4 players who were getting over 10 MPG (Morris, Naz, Thomas, Burton) Naz counts, he was hurt but is a starter when healthy. ISU returned 46.5 PPG, 15.1 RPG and 11.5 APG

Next year ISU is losing Morris, Burton, Thomas, Naz, Bowie and Holden, and is only returning 3 players getting more than 10 MPG right now (Jackson, Babb and Young). Next year ISU is returning 15.2 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 2.9 APG.

I’d be really surprised if Iowa weren’t better next year, as we will be returning over 60 PPG, 30 RPG and nearly 15 APG. I fully expect us to lose in Ames, but have the better overall season. I sure could be wrong about that, but right now looking at what each team has coming back it certainly looks like a slam dunk.

You sure?

MSU was crippled by injuries and played a ridiculously tough non conference schedule. Iowa State will be more talented next year than Iowa and that's not saying we'll be good that's just talking about how bad your guard play will be

With the two bigs that were down they'd be in their usual spot.

And ISU isn't bringing in close to the class that MSU did. MSU brought in 3 players better than ISU's best player. ISU will not rebound from their losses as easily as MSU because MSU brought in way better players

Who's your starting lineup next year?

No clue right now but it won't include 3 guards.

Based on the roster we have right now plus the 2017 kids, Bohannon and Moss will start in the back court.

The front court will be some combo of Wagner, Baer, Cook, Pemsl and Garza.

ISU won't play as hard as a non conference schedule and still are going to add experienced pieces

Yikes!

I could see Cook, Pemsl and Baer starting along with Bohannon and Moss.

I prefer Baer coming off the bench.

In my perfect world, Dailey, Uhl and Jones are not back next year. Connor is then on scholly and that leaves 2 rides to bank and/or try and find someone the 3 spot in the lineup.

Jones is almost 100% not to be back. I dont see Uhl leaving and Dailey is probably 50/50 at this point.

Dozens of posters in this thread (many who were banned then changed their name) have said this for 8 years in a row now and been laughably wrong every year. It's the reason this thread is so long. Laughing at Iowa fans jealousy and irrational delusions and being wrong year after year after year.

It's finally possible next year, but it's still only something like a 50/50 shot. Iowa is loosing their only dangerous scorer, bringing back a talented sophomore forward and the rest of their team I'd frankly rather pass on and roll the dice with other players. Lindell Wiggington could very easily be the best player on either team, I'll actually be surprised if he isn't. Most likely scenario is both teams miss the NCAA next year, not Iowa winning the Big Ten like threads I see on your sites.

16-13 (8-8) this year with that same back court, both in their freshman year.

I would be saying "Yikes" too if I was an ISU fan.

If you think, even for a second, that our back court of Wigginton and Jackson will be fearful of Iowa's guards, then I don't know what to tell you. Add in an experienced Babb and there's still no comparison. Sorry, but the only people high on Iowa's young roster are Iowa fans.

10-6 in the B1G and 18-11 overall and they're way down. Man what a tough conference that must be!
