This coming from the guy that always said head to head is the only thing that mattered.Uhhhh wut? You can't be that dumb, right? By EVERY account the Big 12 is WAY tougher than the B1G by a large margin.
Oh, and we have to play every team in our conference twice. We don't escape playing teams only once. Same as in football.... Iowa's had a cake conference schedule for a long time now because they don't even play everyone. When did Iowa last have to play Ohio State in football? I can't remember back that far.
The same notre dame and North Carolina teams that Iowa beat the year after ISU did?Yeah, beating Notre Dame, UConn, and North Carolina in very recent tournament games (among other lesser known programs) can't compare to only having only beat Temple and Davidson (no other wins) in the last 16 years.

Really? I've been on record saying that the year ISU was Iowa's ONLY football loss of the year was a prime example that the best team does not always win. Iowa was by far the superior team that year.
I generally go by what a team does the entire year, unless they have a real joke of a schedule. Last year, Iowa obviously was a very good football team, nobody goes undefeated in the regular season if they aren't a very good team, but most of us ISU fans wondered how good they really were because they hadn't really beaten anyone since they didn't play any of the best teams in their conference. The Rose Bowl kind of told everyone that they were still a decent team, but not near as good as some thought.
ISU has clearly had a better season, and against better competition, this year than Iowa has had in basketball. ISU did not show up in IC and were overly arrogant and cocky going into that game and deservedly got it handed to them. So be it, it was just one game. They guys were able to move on from it and become the team most of us thought they were. Iowa is an ok team, but not the quality of ISU, that is pretty much a fact at this point.
I am concerned a bit about Iowa going forward though. They have some nice young pieces. I'm just not that confident Fran can bring in the kind of recruits needed to expand on this season though? We shall see.
I do like what Prohm is bringing in next year already, and he still has more to add. I wouldn't be surprised at all if ISU beats Iowa in Hilton next year, although Iowa could very well go on to have a better season?
Yeah. You literally said the team that wins head to head is the better team. This was after an ISU victory, so I'm not surprised you've changed your tune in the last year.Really? I'd be really surprised if we're not better than Iowa next year.
When ISU lost Kane and Ejim, you still returned 5 player getting over 10 MPG (Niang, Hogue, Naz, Morris and Thomas). ISU returned 47.7 PPG, 19.2 RPG, and 10.5 APG
This year ISU lost Niang, Nadar, and McKay, but still returned 4 players who were getting over 10 MPG (Morris, Naz, Thomas, Burton) Naz counts, he was hurt but is a starter when healthy. ISU returned 46.5 PPG, 15.1 RPG and 11.5 APG
Next year ISU is losing Morris, Burton, Thomas, Naz, Bowie and Holden, and is only returning 3 players getting more than 10 MPG right now (Jackson, Babb and Young). Next year ISU is returning 15.2 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 2.9 APG.
I’d be really surprised if Iowa weren’t better next year, as we will be returning over 60 PPG, 30 RPG and nearly 15 APG. I fully expect us to lose in Ames, but have the better overall season. I sure could be wrong about that, but right now looking at what each team has coming back it certainly looks like a slam dunk.
Not sure if serious...?Depends on if Cook goes pro or not.

He says right in there he doesn't think it will happen. Just made the case there is still technically a path to making it.
