I admit sometimes I may go a little overboard in making fun of Iowa and the Big 10. But I see people starting to say Christian Williams is getting good, or Jordan Bohannon has a bright future, I really can't help myself. It's so ridiculous. It's my opinion that the future of Iowa basketball is pretty bleak. That's not a troll, that's just me watching a team play and not seeing much talent paired with a poor coach.

Don't worry, more Iowa fans will come along and try to convince us that they are good and the Big 10 is good. Some of them may even pretend to be Cyclone fans like the dude who just left us.
But, but, but ... Dan Dakich said JorBo is going to be a 1500pt and 700ast guy in his career!
I'm not even sure that's what he was trying to convince us of. It was a little like a fast-paced Cohen Brothers movie. I know I was entertained but I'm not entirely sure there was much of a point to it.
Does trolling count as trolling if you're trolling a guest on your own team's message board?
I don't think many Iowa fans seriously think the BigTen is strong this year, or that Iowa is good this year. If they do it is only because of the Iowa bias they have.
As far as Iowa basketball fan being excited about next year, it kind of parallels the way ISU fans think ISU is going to Be good this year in football. I mean I would bet nobody outside of the ISU fan base thinks that is happening anytime soon, yet many ISU fans are super excited about returning a bunch of kids off a 3 win team. Well Iowa is in the same position with its basketball team. We are hoping that a bunch of young kids who took their lumps this year will improve next year because of it.
Most fans are by nature going to be overly optimistic about their teams for the most part. Iowa fans are no different that ISU fans or any other fan base in doing this.
Sorry to derail this spotless thread, but me mentioning Dakich again makes me remember another thing that clown did on Air for the Iowa game. And I wondered if anyone else noticed it.
A little kid jumped behind them and started dancing during that shot they do of the announcers talking after half, Dakich saw the kid said "get this clown out of here", and then reached back and motioned him to move while saying something, then a few seconds later a producer's assistant shoo-ed the kid off. After the commercial break they come back and the camera is on the kid who was behind them. Dakich goes, "there's a champ right there, get him some facetime." And his co-announcer said something along the lines of "why'd you tell him to move from the camera" and Dakich said "I never made that kid move, I wanted him to stay!"
Another reason I couldn't watch more than 5 minutes of that game at a time, every time he would talk I would call out what he said wrong (flagrant foul on that fast break to end the game, every opinion of a player ever, and his "reasons for not coaching anymore"). It is brutal.

This is one thing that Iowa and Iowa State fans can all agree on.
This. Iowa State got better as the year progressed. We are bringing in more talent to go with some big time talent at skills positions. I will be disappointed if we don't win at least 6 games next year. I don't think that's unrealistic.
