Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

That's actually not true.
Go talk to a P5 coach and say hey man, "wins aren't the only thing that matter, you can't forget about that KenPom rating, RPI rating, and Jeff Sargarin rating." See what they would say. They play games for a reason, to see who wins and loses. If they wanted to go off of ratings, then why even play a game? Winning or lack there of, makes your rating go up or down dumbass. So really, winning is what drives everything.

Then why not just seed teams in the NCAA Tournament according to how many wins they have?

raw

Bohannon is shooting 35% on the season and is one of the worst defenders in the country plus has a really low ceiling. Calling him average is probably pretty generous, he wouldn't be getting minutes here
Matt Thomas shot the same percentages as a freshman and a sophomore and he was more highly regarded than Bohannon. Matt sure improved mightily, so why can't another player?

You're such a homer if you think they can be average

You honestly think Jok makes that much a difference? They already won 3 games without him. Just because a guy scores a ton of points doesnt mean the team is going to be good then suck when hes gone.

Some of the highest scorers each year in the NCAA play on crap teams, so putting up 25 a game doesnt equate to winning basketball like you think. That freshman kid at Washington is putting up 23 a game and they still suck badly.

Out of P5 teams that is almost how it goes, the most wins and least amount of losses are normally the highest seeds.

So why did Iowa go to the NIT when they finished 6th in the Big 10 and the 7th and 8th placed teams went to the NCAA Tournament?

Who did they beat without him? Yes he's the biggest piece of their puzzle, the dude is averaging over 20 ppg and is their leading rebounder

Nebraska, Rutgers, and Ohio State.

And yeah, hes important "this year", teams go through changes, just because they lose 1 player doesnt mean that much.

Seriously, that is your comment back?

What is Bohannon going to improve on? It's not like he's ever going to be a good defender or be able to create his own shot. He can't shoot over people because of his size. He pretty much is who he is. Matt was a highly regarded recruit for a reason

Nebraska and Ohio State at home and at Rutgers. Thank you for proving my point lol

Lol, dude not to derail this because I agree with all your basketball posts against this YeahBuddy guy, but you cant really rip the Big Ten for sucking at defense when we play in the Big 12. Nobody can make that claim and keep a straight face. K-State and Oklahoma are the only schools in the conference that even believe in playing defense.

I think the Huggies might have something to say about that.

Because they count wins and losses for the entire year. And, with only 68 teams getting in, there has to be a cutoff at some point. Some with similar records get in, some don't.

Bottom line is, if you want a higher seed or a higher rating, win more and lose less. If you want a lower seed or rating, win less and lose more. So, winning still drives everything.

Iowa only has more wins this season than Rutgers and Nebraska this year in the Big Ten. Ouch!

He seems to be able to get his shot off as a freshman. Handles the ball decent and runs the offense decently. Idk what the big stick up your ass is about him? He's average and he's a freshman.
