Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

It is embarrassing to see our fans bend over backwards to try to minimize Iowa's season. They are a very good team in a season where there aren't any great teams. Uthoff is an absolute stud and maybe one of the 3 or 4 most valuable players in the country. Jok is improved and playing with a ton of confidence. They will be a tough out in the tournament because they are very disciplined and know how to play the game. I do think they will have to adjust their rotation in March. I would not be comfortable playing Uhl, Baer and Ellingson against top teams.

Purdue has a nice record, but they haven't beaten anyone. They're benefiting from the unbalanced Big Ten schedule (sound familiar?).

As long as Iowa State is winning (we're 17-6 and will be in the top 15 on Feb. 8), I just don't see what drives people to be so bitter. I hate Iowa, but we beat them and they don't really have an effect on our season. I'd love to see them both teams in the same region.

Jok is awesome. I think both the iowa and iowa state staffs with the benefit of seeing him play more realized he had potential but serious questions about whether he would ever reach it. Iowa was in position to take a flyer, ISU got screwed by a weird recruiting rule.

I actually thought he had this potential but I assumed his knees would hold him back more. I didn't think he'd be able to play thru 4 years.

and since ISU was in the Top-5 in November to present the CR gazette continues with negative ISU headlines in their print editions after isu MBB wins... Some next to idiot fluff pieces on the Hawkeyes.....It's hilarious

Exactly. I'm tired of the pro hok media, locally and nationally. Making them out to be something they aren't. Meanwhile, we've played the toughest schedule in the conference with injuries and are doing great. And freaking SI putting them on the cover is a joke. How are you going to put them on the cover before us? We freaking beat them. It's straight disrespect and I know Pollard is tired of it along with all of us

I think it's cringe worthy that alleged Iowa St fans come into the in-state board, (which is an add-in) and rail on other Iowa St fans for their trolling and hatred of hoks.

Why do you feel the need to defend Iowa? What's the point?

If you don't like it, GTFO. You don't have to be here. No matter how much you try to defend Iowa, there's still gunna be plenty of posters that hate them, and will continue to downgrade their performance.

Why do you feel there needs to be trolling and hatred of Hawk fans. Can't have a civil discussion about the two teams?

Its true their demographic leans towers the Hawks but pandering to the ISU haters is dumb as hell.

There is some civil discussion, in between the trolling. When there is this many hawks that are trolling this board, you can't have all civil discussion.

I just don't understand people calling out Cyclone fans that are hating on Iowa, like yourself. You're not gunna change their minds about Iowa.

Im not calling anyone out. You know, and this is not aimed at you, people can still not like a team and have try to have a object take instead of blind hatred.

Don't like to do positive-bump to an Iowa-related thread, but since it became a back-and-forth p***ing match, just bringing levity.

If tournament field were announced today, Iowa would be a 1 seed. I think Nova and OU are higher, and XU, KU, UNC and UO could argue for it. But it's 1.

As for Iowa's remaining schedule, it has road-loss vs. good teams potential (at IU, at U-M), and gimmies (Minnesota at home!).

A 1 seed is Iowa's to lose, at this point.

Agree. Also, they are pretty much a lock for Des Moines at this point.
