Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

They are not a top 5 team. Maryland is better than them. Purdue and MSU are playing better now. Iowa would struggle to beat them now.

Iowa cleans up well and beats the teams they should. And in the Big Ten, with their schedule, that's basically everyone. But you can't tell me they are on the same level as Oklahoma, Kansas or UNC. No way. They got 30 from uthoff and couldn't even beat us. I think they lose 3 more in the Big Ten.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I think at this point, even the most obvious Hok trolls like CyTwins would admit they were good. Not many would admit they are top 5, or if they do they say it is only because they played MSU without Valentine, or a weak schedule, or a weak conference, or some other stuff.

I'm a Hok troll now

Sadly, I do not see them losing 3 more in the Big 10. I hope you are right.

I don't have to tell you they are on the same level as those teams. Literally every national pundit in the nation is saying it instead.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

When I started this thread I never thought Iowa could hang around the Top 5

They play another injury-plagued team in Illinois

They've played Mich st, Purdue, Marquette, Wichita St when those teams were without starters. Now those teams are much healthier than before and winning-- propping up Iowa's BPI. This MBB team is identical to their FB season .. Fake ID of college basketball.

Iowa's remaining schedule is garbage

Is there a worse Point guard/Center combination for a top-5 team, than Iowa? Ever? Lol

WOW

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I was under the that CyTwins was an Iowa fan mock trolling this board under the guise of a Hawk hater. If he is truly an Iowa State fan it is cringe worthy for our fanbase.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Both fanbases should want the other team to do well for mutual benefit. Wanting either ISU or Iowa lose not only harms the state but hurts your own teams RPI as well. Then again, there's nothing logical about being a fan.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Take Uthoff off the team and they are very bad. Uthoff is great, everyone else is ehh.

How do you know this? They haven't played a game without him. Regardless, basketball is always a star driven sport. Take Heild off OK, take Niang off ISU, Paige off UNC. They all become shells of their team.

They won't be any good next year for sure. Jok is turning into a good player for them, but he won't have anyone around him next year to help out. We could really have used Jok this year, I'm kind of ticked now we let Iowa get him.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

The fact is Iowa fans and their lapdog media polish turds year round

a win over Penn St is the same as ISU beating OU to them

I don't know, I thought they'd be OK but nothing special this year, and they have played very well. Who says that can't do that again next year?

Anyone who would make that claim is a moron. Additionally, I also doubt anyone has actually made that comparison.

They are a lot like Wisconsin last year. Everyone was saying oh it's Wisconsin, they are always good, they will be good this year. I never though so, because they lost so much, and the same will hold true for Iowa. No way are Fr. and Rs Fr. going to replace Gesell/Clemmons at PG. No way Ellingson/Flemming will do much as SG. Jok will be a stud. Uhl/Baer aren't going to replace Uthoff/Dingleberry.

Take it to the bank, Iowa will be an NIT team next year.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

You're not getting it. Playing against a team that has an injured player. My point is, you could go through anyone's schedule and devalue wins based on their opponent having an injured/missing player.

Dude, you're lost. We were talking about Beach Avs comment that Iowa's wins are devalued because those teams were without X player. Nothing to do with ISU. My main point is that's it's dumb to evaluate wins/losses based on the hypothetical result that it would have been different with that player.

I think you are the one that is lost and changing the argument to suit you. But what ever.

And learn how to quote on this site. It is not that hard.

I'm scared of who will handle the ball next year mostly. This team is more balanced then most on here want to admit so I would have to agree with you.
