Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

back to the bench question: I think ISU may have a good bench but prohm hasnt shown that he can rely on them, whereas with IOWA Fran has a few different times put 3 or 4 bench players on the floor with a slight lead and they build the lead to double digits for the starters. Baer doesnt fit the picture of a productive player but he has done well, Uhl is playing great and besides a few bone head (selfish) plays has done well leading the bench, Wagner like others have said is starting to a "real" power foreward (can he be the next reggie evans?), ellingson I'll give you is kinda poor right now. He reminds me way too much of oglesby and not in a good way, I just hope he fills a role and doesnt hurt the flow of the O. so I would say come march Fran will shorten the bench to 8 and they may or maynot be enough, whereas prohm IMO probably needs to put some of his guys to the fire and find out if they can be reliable enough to keep a lead (or build one) come tourny time.

You're not very good at math are you?

-Start with trying to understand what 60% means. I mean REALLY get in there and understand complex things like percentages.
-Take this newfound knowledge and apply it to exciting numbers like 10, 14 and 15.
-Rejoice in being less ignorant!

You sound like someone polling 100 people to make an issue seem relevant.

Just like last year, all you relevant stat junkies will wake up in March.

I'm guessing your basketball predictions won't be too far off from your football predictions:

It's going to come down to the B1G, Big 12 this year I think. Alabama plays solid defense, but their only weapon is being run 50 times a game, I don't think they can keep that going for 3 more games. I think Clemson is going to lose to UNC.

Big difference picking the final 8 games of a season bud, again polling those 100 people to make an issue relevant. Must be a common theme for you guys here. I get it, in a way you have to constantly spin numbers like politicians to seem better than you really are.

Who's spinning numbers? Every metric this year has the Big 12 significantly better than the Big 10

Better fire up the BIG 12 chants in Hilton. Both conferences are projected to get 6 teams into the only thing that matters right now. In college basketball you earn every road win, the talent gap is significantly less compared to football in every conference including mid majors, and that fact is proven just about every single year come March.

Iowa earned a road win at Rutgers? There goes your credibility

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

ISU is not playing good basketball right now and are #12 in the RPI. Iowa is playing very well and are #6. ISU beat them head to head. I still think ISU has a better NCAA tournament because they have a much higher ceiling. They just need to put it together

You watching this game? Not only does ISU not have a higher ceiling, but their ceiling might not be as good as Iowa's floor. These are two bad teams playing right now.

Dumb argument, if you don't show up for a road game you will lose. ISU / UNI ring a bell? How about the game today? The Texas Tech game last year is the perfect example.

As good as Morris and Niang are, McKay better figure his **** out or ISU will be 1 and done again.

Beating a legitimate, full strength (currently) #1 team in the country is lower than Iowa's floor? Wow, Iowa should just waltz to the NCAA final game no problem. God, you're an idiot.

I'm being 100% honest in saying any top 25 team could beat Rutgers playing 4 guys. They're that bad. Rutgers is way way way worse than UNI

ISU was down a starter and had their two POY candidates and sharp shooter take over the game in the second half. A win is a win. Oklahoma State is pretty bad though for a Big 12 team. They're better than half the Big 10 but I'm just happy they won

Tournament games aren't played at Hilton. Haven't beaten a ranked team on the road and are 9-6 since losing Naz.
Would you consider the season more successful if you win a tournament game despite having a worse seed and worse season overall?

St. Peters is 8-13 and gave a higher RPI than Rutgers. Can we agree that teams like Iowa or ISU can just show up and beat teams like Rirgers and Minnesota? You don't earn anything beating teams that aren't competitive

So Iowa beat #1 Michigan State at home but ISU didn't beat a ranked Cincinnati team on the road?

You barely beat a horrible OSU without their 2 best players. 2.
