Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

ACC is the best conference big 12 second. Look at top ten teams on Ken Pom compared to Big 12's ten teams.

rholtgraves, take a load off. Pomeroy has already done the work. And the Big 12 is head and shoulders above any conference based on his rankings. How are you still arguing that?

You aren't being objective. Of course the bottom 4 teams are going to bring the ratings down doesn't mean the top 10 teams aren't better than the Big 12s. 3 in the top ten, 5 in the top 16.
Also Ken Pom has ACC as the best league. You have to account for the disparity in amount of teams. Like k said ACC will probably get 9 teams in but the big 12 6. How can you say that big 12 is better based on that? Additionally I see OU as the only team with a shot at the final four while ACC has UNC, Virginia and Louisville that have a good shot.

6/10 > 9/17....

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Devin Williams didn't play? I swear I saw him destroy us

Holton was a lot closer to Williams in rebounding until the ISU game...Williams padded his stats a bit.

Williams was still averaging 1 more rebound per game going into the Iowa State game so their leading rebounder and best player did indeed play in Ames

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Anyone that thinks the Big 12 conference is not the best conference this year is an idiot. Top to bottom very good this year. Big 10 has been that way in the past (deep league), but certainly not this year. The bottom of the Big 10 is garbage this year. No other way to put it.

OU - Final Four contender
WVU - Sweet 16
ISU - Sweet 16 if they get a decent draw, otherwise a 2nd round loss is probable with your bench.
KU - Will most likely get upset in the 2nd round, watched them a few times this year not impressed.
Baylor - Wild card.. Probably will lose early.
Texas - Wild card.. will lose early.

Everyone else is mediocre.

So why exactly should we crown the Big 12 when they're even with every other conference?

The #13 team in the country could get to the Sweet 16 if they get a decent draw. And you wonder why your fanbase is so douchy

Numbers and facts are more accurate than your opinion of how far Big 12 teams might go in March? Just spit balling here but that might be a good reason.

Don't you have some algebra to work on?

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Question to the non trolling Hawk fans out there. ISU seems to get hammered by Iowa fans about not having a bench. Do you think you have a good bench this year? Like Brady Ellingson and Nicholas Baer would be contributors at ISU?

I think both Iowa/ISU are in the same situation because they bot have 6 guys they can play with no drop off. Fran just decides to play 9 guys while Prohm plays 7.5

Good god you are dense. Big 12 has ten teams. Compare them against top ten teams from ACC. Its not that difficult to understand.

Have you seen anything from them to suggest otherwise? I haven't. They don't look like a sweet sixteen team

You can't take out the bad teams from one conference and leave the bad teams in another conference and compare them. Please tell me you understand how stupid that is.

A big reason the Big 12 is hands down the best conference in basketball is because of the strength from top to bottom

You're not very good at math are you?

-Start with trying to understand what 60% means. I mean REALLY get in there and understand complex things like percentages.
-Take this newfound knowledge and apply it to exciting numbers like 10, 14 and 15.
-Rejoice in being less ignorant!

Please list 16 teams that "look like" Sweet 16 teams now. It's February 5th. Last time we made a Sweet 16 our team lost 4 out of 5 to end January and then got destroyed by an NIT team on Feb 10th.

Ellingson barely plays since BIG started and Uhl and Wagner is a far better combo than any two players ISU brings off the bench.
Iowa is a top 5 team, ISU is a top 20 team if they win this weekend, and unranked if they don't. Any ranking or advanced statistic says Iowa is the better team. Either Iowa's starters are much better than ISU's or it's the combination of their bench...

Uhl and Wagner are not better than Burton and whoever else. Burton is better than both and Wagner is averaging 2.9 ppg. Iowa has played 8 games against ranked opponents this season, Wagner has a total of 3 points in those 8 games.
