He shows a lot of poise. He's going to shoot a really high % from 3 because it looks like he only shoots them when he's open.
But I love his ability and willingness to take the ball to the hole.
He, Colvin and Gilstrap all provide that attacking the rim mentality that we didn't have from anyone last year.

He has been an excellent addition. Right now these guys are playing as a team. And when it all comes together like this, it's fun to watch. In past years... you find your favorite players. But this year... I see so much coming from each guy that I'm not 'picking favorites' like I have in years past. Everybody is stepping up their game and is unselfish enough that anybody can have a big night.
pass the ball to an open man such as: Lucca, Scott, Marquis, JVB, Laron, Diante, Colvin... you get the idea.
I see this as being big. Agreed 100%. Also noticed it has rubbed off on DG and now JVB. Dendy also took it to the hoop when I saw him play. I think this is huge if we get guys going towards the hoop this year.
The refs we pretty biased in this game. By continuing to take it to the hoop we should see more teams fouling us and creating more scoring opportunities and hesitant defenses.
I like all 4 new guys this year... this is a great class, specially if MG gets another year.
In my opinion, this will be the biggest difference between this year and last year. Especially if we can shoot like we have through 3 games. The 3 point shooting tonight is not sustainable, but you can't tell me every coach in the Big 12 won't know we've got someone on our team who can knock down 10 threes in a game. Want to double team CB now? :smile:
Just having the threat out there is over half the battle. Other teams are going to have to make decisions now and if DG makes decisions like he has thus far we will make teams pay for it.
Did anyone notice how quiet Brackins 22 was tonight? Had had 22 half way through the second half and I thought the announcers were joking when they said it. He didn't really have to force anything and let the game come to him. It was a thing of beauty.
He is a very welcome addition to this team. We have needed someone like him for awhile. Wish we could have gotten him couple years ago out of high school rather than him going to Marquette. Will gladly take him now though.
Beautiful. The pressure is on the PG position to get it to the open, capable man. In theory, there should always be one out there... PG just has to find him.
- and in this way, Diante should never really be expected to score much, except for the obligatory layup and/ or foul shots.
