Scott Christopherson "throat slashing"

Look again. On one of them I think he does it while the ball is still in the air. Even the guys on the bench know that more times than not when he shoots the three it is going in.

I rewatched Scotty's last three last night a couple of times and he is clearly making the "cut" sign (waving the fingertips back and forth under the chin) and saying "It's over." It is clearly not the throat slash which is a single drag of the hand or thumb across the throat. I know a lot of people who have used what Scotty did as a silent "cut it off" or "stop it" motion as long as I can remember. Even some quarterbacks use it as the signal to change the play to the alternate play called in the huddle.

A bit cocky? Yes. T worthy? Not a chance.

Completely agree. These hawks losers are just fishing for anything at this point, hoping something sticks.

If I were them, I'd be more concerned with why Brommer looks like he was recently bitten by a zombie and is showing early symptoms of turning into one.

I don't have a problem with it even if it was the "throat slash". The guy almost single handedly won the game. He should be pumped up. I think a couple of guys at the game are the ones who said it was the "throat slash" and that maybe someone on Iowa's bench saw it. They were pi$$ed because Fran got a T for complaining while JVB threw the ball against the basket and didn't get anything. There could have been a few t's given out last night between both teams.

Cylent...you shouldn't be worried about Brommer's looks, you should be worried about how he looked "all conference" against ISU's post players. I was hoping Brommer would xfer last year when Lick got canned, but he looked great last night.

Good game. I wish SC was a senior and DG was a junior so he would be on your team for another year.

I know a guy that knew a guy that may or may not have been inbounding the ball when this happened... it was definitely intentional, and definitely awesome. (real names have been changed to protect my sources)

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany has vowed to investigate the recent rash of smash-mouth basketball being played in the Big Ten.
In consecutive games last week, an Iowa player was hit in the face by an opponent trying to inbound the ball. Northwestern's Steve Lepore drilled J.R. Koch last Tuesday, then Indiana's Michael Lewis nailed Jacob Jaacks on Saturday. Coach Tom Davis' style at Iowa has been to press full-court, with a center aggressively guarding the inbound passer.
"That's not a part of Big Ten basketball," Delany said. "By rule, that can be called a technical foul if officials believe it's intentional."
But there's the problem. How can a referee determine a player's intention? Neither player was penalized last …

Outside of MSU and OSU Big Ten basketball is a joke to watch.

There could have been a few T's in this game, i guess.

Scotty
JVB - def should have been in my opinion
Brommer - Backboard tap (Ejim got one for this last game)
McCabe - mouthing off w/ F Bomb
Fran - after the no-call charge

Not sure what Fran said for that first T, but must have been pretty good if he didn't get one after the charge.

I have something for Iowa fans. It's called...the Suck It...

Ha....haven't heard that name in awhile. I still remember watching him get blasted in the face with an in-bounds pass on purpose because he was being a d-bag.

Don't know if Jaaks (sp, too) is a d-bag, but do know the reason he got a face full of leather was because Coach Davis' pressure defense included the man guarding the in-bounds passer so closely that the defender was constantly jumping over the out of bounds line. That's supposed to be against the rules, but the refs seldom called it. Coach Knight apparently decided to make the defender back off to his side of the line one way or the other. The result was the Indiana player waited until Jaaks jumped over the line, then nailed him with the ball. I **** near jumped out of my chair clapping.

-JVB should have been given a technical. Everyone is in agreement on that. I'm shocked that he wasn't.

-Brommer played a good game last night. Our post players have little to no discipline and swat away at shots they have no chance at blocking, leaving weak side guys wide open for dump offs and offensive boards. Last night wasn't the first night that problem has reared its ugly head for us.

-DG hounded Cartwright all night and played pretty good defense, including coming up with multiple steals on errant passes. He had a bad shooting night, but he still was the best PG on the floor last night by far, and it wasn't even close. I would love for DG to return next year, especially since PG is going to ISU's biggest question mark going into the season.

Nah, if you had you REAL wish would be that all the guys in Cyclone jerseys traded with those in Hawkeye jerseys. Not really smack talk, but I really don't envy hawkeye basketball fans at all. I really used to love watching Tom Davis teams and Alford could win a tourney every now again, but at the end of the day he killed the hawkeye bball program and more tough times are ahead for iowa. I think Fran is better than Lick, but will still be gone in 3-4 years. Iowa City is a REALLY tough place to win right now in the CBB world. I can understand you wanting Cristopherson graduated, the hawkeye killer himself will definitely have someone draped all over him next year I can guarantee.

If this part happens, Chris Allen will think it's Christmas.

Can they afford to devote one guy solely to Scott with Royce White down there?

Can Scott and Chris (and Chris) end up seeing shot after shot?
Will Hilton be able to contain the excitement?

Some people in this thread haven't been on CF since 2014. Makes you wonder...
