Doing a Family Vacation to St. Louis: Me, Wifey, and two Boys (8 & 10)

What should we see?
What should we do?
Where should we eat? (more along the lines of fun, unique, sportsy, Dive, and Probably Not Fancy)?
Where should we stay (relatively cheap)?

Already planning:
Arch
City Museum
Cardinals Games X2
Brewery Tour

Go State!

Blueberry Hill in the Del Mar Loop, The Hill in South Stl county for kick ass Italian, Soulard just east ish of Busch. And Fast Eddies Bon Aire in Alton IL.

We always stay downtown for cheap using any online booker.

The last time I was in STL (other than the airport) we went to a Blues/Whalers game. Prolly not much help but just kicked up that memory. I suppose that was more than a few years ago.

Visit Nelly and/or the St Lunatics?

The year was 2008 and there was most definitely a cheek bandage going on.

The St Louis Zoo is pretty good, and if I remember correctly admission is free (gotta pay to park, though, I think).

Sauce On The Side downtown (near the Convention Center) has fantastic calzones. I haven’t had Ted Drewes frozen custard myself, but I’ve heard great things.

The Science Museum is also very cool. There’s a skywalk over Highway 40 that used to have radar guns so you could clock the cars going by - don’t know if they still have those but my kids had a ball with those.

The light rail system is a pretty good way to get around, at least if theres a stop close to where you want to go.

Top golf and grant’s farm are some decent options for kids. Clayton has some nice up scale restaurants i’ve seen kids at.

City museum is amazing, plan to spend the whole day and expect to be a bit sore the next day.
