Ryan Boyle

I'm not questioning why he isn't a nationally known recruit. This is Iowa high school football after all. It wouldn't even make sense for half the teams in the B12 to look at him because they can do as well or better elsewhere.

With that said, not all of the other big 12 schools had Boyle grow up right by them. Iowa State did. He's accomplished everything that can be accomplished at the highest level of football in Iowa and he's done it right on the Cyclones radar. For a team who can't afford to miss on talent I'm simply saying I think he would have been worthy of being offered a scholarship.

Mr. Boyle, I don't know how else to say it but ISU didn't think he was good enough to deserve a scholarship

Well I'm with Brian Sr., This kid is without a doubt the best recruit from the state of Iowa since Blake Larsen. If talent of this caliber presents itself you recruit it till you bleed...and you don't take no for an answer. For God's sake Montana State offered, what else needs to be said?

I mean if you're good in the mighty CIML you must be worthy of a Big 12 scholarship

He looks like james Vandenberg 2.0. I'd be okay with him on our team. That said, if he was a hawkeye the whole way I'm not surprised.

Look, all I know is that Section 110 and I have been following this kid since he was in 6th grade. Me going to games, 110 mostly following him at the mall and sitting in his car outside the Doyle residence. Anyway, this kid is the real deal. He passes and runs. He's fast and wears shoulder pads. He also loves Jesus and his family.

HELLO Paul Rhoads...why didn't you offer? Have you seen his hair?

never seen him play, but a huge cyclone fan told me that he sees a lot of Jake Waters in him. Also, hes never even played defense in high school so a position switch is doubtful. if he doesnt cut it at QB he will likely end up at a smaller school.

websites are hardly rare among high school kids these days with the proliferation of recruiting and associated resources. in fact, its one of the main reasons that its hard to keep good midwestern players around- they simply arent under the radar anymore. thats why you have schools like michigan, oregon, and alabama taking top kids out of iowa.

that kid looks like hes been in a D1 strength program for 3 years. what are they feeding kids down there?

Reminds me of this. #1 of all time for self promoting and helecopter dads:

This wouldn't surprise me. Especially if he's 100% sold on being a QB. He has the tools to do it, and a position switch probably wouldn't result in him making a career out of it. The biggest issues I take when a kid refuses to change positions is when they could potentially be screwing their chance at an NFL career because they were too stubborn to change. AJ Derby is specifically who I'm talking about. He could have made the NFL as a LB. He may still make the NFL as a TE depending on whether or not someone gives him a chance. Tim Tebow could probably be thrown into that category as well.

yeah, tebow has had to settle for being one of the best players in CFB history and now making bank at ESPN haha

Tebow's fame certainly did him some favors. In his case he definitely wasn't screwing himself by not changing positions because he knew he'd have plenty of opportunities off the football field. Heck he might actually be making more $$ as a TV analyst than he would as a fullback or flex type TE in the league.
