Roll Call - Kinnick Stadium

Have you been before? You'll be treated well, excepting a few drunks, which is a sitaution that exists at any away game you travel to.
Iowa fans treat each other like absolute ****. I've been there for the game either 2 or 3. Can't remember exactly. I went to the Seneca game as a kid and then last time. When I was a kid I don't remember it being to bad but I think my nativity helped that. Last time we were got tickets through someone's work so we were with big money people. We actually tailgated with the 2004 team.

This year will be interesting because some of my friends are going to be there as well and we are now 21. Hopefully we don't have any problems but I'm not expecting a whole lot.

Going again but I go every year. Don't know why I go because the opposing fans can be terrible. Probably because I try to make as many away games as possible and logistically it makes sense. We always tailgate in the donor lots and for the most part everyone is fine there but the walk to and from the car and in the stadium is worse than any other place I've been and I've been to a lot of different away games.

I had the exact same experience two years ago. Went with my hok fan neighbors and even he was embarrassed for the pure douchness of their fanbase as a whole. He offered again this year but we declined cuz Kinnick is an awful environment. Ignorant fans yelling idiotic comments after every play and knees shoved in your back for 3 hours with no leg room. It was definitely a different story after the game however after we beat their ass.

C'mon Airbag,
You could line up ten UI sophomores, five from Iowa, five from the western suburbs have then all shout one at a time "F*CK I S WHO!" and I gurantee you I could pick out the douchebaggs from Naperthrill or Libertyville or wherever. And you could too. Get real...bro.

Ohhh, because they will be eating an Italian Beef sandwich?

I come to this board to post once a year and this thread is predictable. At any rate, I've been to games in Ames and Iowa City and have been treated well and poorly at both places. In my experience, the problem lies with "fans" who come to the stadium areas without a ticket and whose only goal is to get annilihilated. Those are the fans, both schools have them, who give the rest a bad name.

I have been invited over to tailgate, but with no Ticket and desire to get in to any trouble that I know I bring on my self, I will probably watch with the Folks.

I went to the Iowa - Purdue game last year by the invitation of a good friend. It is the first and last time I will ever step foot in Kinnick Stadium unless ISU is playing. The Iowa fans threw ice and snowballs at Purdue's cheerleaders. It was so bad the officials had to stop the game and make a public service announcement to cease the barrage. I saw two cheerleaders get injured with a female needing medical assistance off the field. What a national disgrace on television.

I go to IC for this game most years and have a good time. Their fans are dooshy, no doubt, especially the Chicago burb kids and the white trash SE IA Kirkwood/college dropouts, but it's not the hell hole that many posters claim.

We were there two years ago and had a blast. Got there at 8 am parked in the ramp, tailgated there shotgunned a few beers with some hawk fans, sorry but our daughter who goes there is won of them ! They were impressed that I even knew what shotgunning a beer was and proceeded to kick there ass!! After all the floating around at other tailgates, we meet quite a few hawk families that were great people. Only bad thing was the Hawk fan in his skinny jeans that was sitting a few seats down from us, that decided to go commando and his jeans had a rip in them. Didn't realize that after he rubbed his way past us that his jewels were enjoying the breeze. A friend of ours sitting a couple rows behind us noticed and she started screaming OMG OMG!! I was violated and didn't even notice.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Will be there again in section 47!!

So, I should have prefaced my post with "I don't need to hear the opinion of the Kirkwood trolls on going to a game in Iowa City."

The question was "are you [cyclone fans] going to the game?"

Glad to see the regular Iowa State contingent will be in attendance. See you all there.

They played at Purdue! Just saying.

I will be there. I haven't been to a IA vs ISU game in Iowa City since 1998, and we all know what happened that year.
