Rhoads on Sound off now

AA while young and a good athlete should think twice about "Punching" former coach Chizik in the face. Point is, These "KIDS" of today are not as mean as the 60's and 70's generations. If you ask many Coaches in the profession they will tell you that while "KIDS" today are in alot of cases bigger and more athletic in nature, their motivation and killer instinct isn't anywhere near what it was back then. People back then would fight till the other guy said "Uncle" or until someone broke it up. PLUS, todays society doesn't allow these Students to "Touch" eachother whereas in the 60's and 70's you fought your way to school and fought your way home! Teachers would turn their backs if someone decided to pound on a "Bully" if he had enough of his crap. They just again are not as mean or passionate.

AA, In a fight with Chizik, you would get pounded on like a rented mule. I would submit to you that if you did say that you'd like to punch him in the face perhaps you should think about your career as broken bones wouldn't help your cause any.

You whippersnappers had better remember this! And stay outta my yard! I would have succeeded if it weren't for those meddling kids!

What the hell are you talking about? AA and Chiz will never get in a fight so why write a novel about it?

Ok... I was going to pick on Lenny for having some extremely stupid posts in this thread, but somehow yours beat them all.

Are you kidding me?? Where and when did you grow up? I'm sure there are still many places where kids are tough, and givin the chance they would kill someone....

I know this society looks down on fighting and stuff like that now, but trust me it still happens. You just don't do it accross the street from school anymore.

I thought kids from the 60's and 70's were only good at making bongs. It's a little hard being a tough guy when you are flying high, so I've heard.

you kids today with your dan fogelberg, hula hoops, zima and your pac man video games..people today have attention spans that can only be measured in nano seconds

I'm not upset that the guy left, I would have too. I also don't give a squirt of **** about Auburn. I just like f'ing with people and trying to make them uncomfortable in public situations. It would be purely for comedy value and not out of spite.
I have an idea for you:
Post your REAL name, and continue to post, and we can forward these posts to your family and employer-that certainly would be embarrassing for you.

No it wouldn't. They know who and what I'm about. And my real name is Mike Lenders if that helps you at all.

Well AA could hit him with his left hand and he is a big boy. ?tougher in the 60's and 70's. LOL. I am sure there are no tough guys out there anymore

:biglaugh:
Reminds me of the line from Bull Durham:
"What hand did you hit me with?
"My left hand, why?"
"Because you never hit a drunk with your pitching hand! Now help me up."

Reemer: Oh, I'll come, I love hospitals.
Coop: No you don't, you like Taco Bell!
Reemer: No, one time I was at this hospital, in france, and I met this great chick.
Coop: Dude, that was a hostel.

Good idea in the emails they read.

Find out when Chizik's first radio show is broadcast in Auburn and make sure the first caller is Diamond Dave, announcing that he's not behind Chizik at all.

I think the MOST important thing is to make sure that the first call is NOT Tommy from DSM. Wasn't he the first caller for Chizik? Honestly, he probably started planning his escape at that very moment.

Thanks for the recap everyone, I am out of town for the week and wasn't able to view Soundoff. I'll only be able to listen to the first half hour of the call-in show tonight since they cut the kxno feed at 7pm. Anybody think Paul Rhoads might be on for part of the show? Or will they stick with the bball coaches, since Rhoads obviously has a very busy schedule right now.

So I'm confused...they were killers who would give up when people said "Uncle"?

Maybe that's why our murder rate has risen in the last 40 years, either because killers stopped respecting requests of "Uncle", or maybe because us young'uns today aren't mean enough to say "Ok, ok. Uncle. Uncle!!!!"

We are spinning out of the main subject at hand, but you are correct in assuming that violence is up from many years ago because this generation is coddled and can't get their frustrations out. Kinda like Hockey, you let them mix it up from time to time and the sticks stay down. IF you don't allow a certain amount of "Fighting" frustrations build and the sticks come up thus causing more injury.

I've never seen a BB player that could mix it up like a Hockey player and with a few exceptions... football included. Not sure if protecting the QB will have the desired results as if they isolate the QB too much then when the defenses get their "shot" they really lay the wood to them. Especially if the QB is a running QB and takes to the ground instead of being hit. The defenses sooner or later will ring his bell.

Alright, from reading this thread it appears that we got Diamond Dave's input on next season. Did we hear from Cyclone Jerry? How about Denny in Clear Lake?
