REPORT: Anthony Nelson flips commitment to Iowa

It's one thing to lose a recruit, and another when you lose them to the Hawkeyes. Disappointing. Hopefully Rhoads and staff have others to fill that void.

I never want to wish ill on someone who thinks they are doing what is best for them. With that being said, makes me want to beat the hawk that much more for the next 4-5 years.

The kid is a hawk legacy so it's tough to blame him. What grinds my gears is why even commit to ISU if your just gonna flip the second Iowa offers? Did our staff ask him that? If they did and he said he would stay committed even if Iowa offers that what does that say? Why not just wait for the Iowa offer and walk on if Iowa is your dream. Whatever...

More JUCO's please. We aren't going anywhere with a CIML all-star team.

This is like a basketball team in 10 years saying that "we are going to do the transfer thing, even though people have done it before and the market is saturated." At this point in college football, ISU will not be innovative by focusing only on JuCos. This hurts. There is talent in Iowa that we should be recruiting, but aren't because of the idea that kids from Florida and Texas are inherently better than ones from Iowa. Taking the kids from states where the local schools don't want them, and running the same schemes as other teams with inferior talent.

Personally I'll take 2nd and 3rd tier Texas/Florida/Cali kids over Iowa kids anyways (unless of course they are elite like Lazzard was). Having been around these 2nd and 3rd tier Texas/Florida/Cali kids and Iowa kids to me it is a no brainer.

I'm with whoever said bring on the jucos. Take whatever the plan has been the last couple of years and do the opposite.

A lot of our best players recently have come from the midwest.

Osemele was from Texas, but I will give the OK to any kid that big.
Im not saying to stay away from TX and FL, but ignoring your own state, the only place where anyone gives a **** about you, seems dumb to me. McCarney recruited Iowa a lot and he was more successful than Rhoads or Chiz
