Everyone needs to relax. This team has its ups and downs. They lost 3 in a row last year and still finished 2nd and won the big 12 tourney. Relax

The only person that needs to relax is McKay when he thinks a call should have went his way. I've been waiting for three years for the rest of these guys to play with a bit more urgency.

Same as last year. The defense is relaxing too much, specifically two guys. If they want to play D League, they need to step uo their defensive efforts. Most people were hoping for better than last year with an all american. Looking like we will not win the conference at this point. Looks like last year with little defensive improvement in conference.

It will be interesting to see how they respond to adversity. I think it will refocus them.

I can see them coming out and looking sharp vs. Texas (can also see a 10-15 point Texas win).

But I'm not sure there's going to be consistency if there's improvements for one game. Hasn't been yet this year, and as much as people ignore it, it was that way last year too.

It's certainly a trend with this team, but you never know when everything will click. Coach Prohm is also seeing these teams for the first time, and I think he will learn from the experience as well.

Déjà vu here for sure. The sample size is now large enough. We know the answer. More of the same. They aren't as good as they think they are, and don't respect teams that play hard.

It's the same team as the last few years. We can beat anyone on any given day or lose to almost anyone any given day
Minus some very good and tough players like Hogue, Ejim, Kane, Naz, even a guy like Edozie. BDJ was talented. Yet we expected this team to be better, during a coaching transition no less?

We have some major talent/roster/personnel issues. The lack of recruiting for nearly 2 years is showing.

It's amazing how much better our players get after they leave. Hogue had a pretty disappointing senior campaign and Edozie and BDJ? Cmon man

Actually, this loss did relax me. I came into the season expecting top10 caliber effort and execution which made me tense. Now I can relax because it appears we're a good, top 20-30 team and that reduces expectations and thus tension.
Thinking you have a really good team is stressful!

Agree. I think it's all in what your expectations are. If you as a fan had final four aspirations or even national title thoughts....yeah...you can freely jump up and down on the panic button, because that ship is slowly leaving port.

Nobody doubts we will still have a nice record, somewhere near 23-25 wins, but I think most people...and rightfully so...had very high hopes. Can they still be reached? Of course...but the body of work they are putting together isn't very encouraging.

for whatever reason this team just won't play hard and smart for 40 minutes, and they basically admitted that yesterday..Thomas saying they "got lazy". We can point to numerous games where we play down to our opponent, or do just enough to get by.

And as as much as I love George's his "This will be a learning moment" about sent me through the roof. YOURE A SENIOR!!!!!! Other teams are supposed to say that after playing us...not the other way around when we get beat by a couple freshman and sophomore.

and coach...I get it..a triangle and two is a little confusing if you don't practice against it a ton....but it's usually confusing for about 2-3 possessions....not ten minutes of game play. I'm not going to play the "Here's what Hoiberg would have done" game a lot ....but zero chance he wouldn't have taken a TO, drawn up a set, and Baylor would have bailed on it.

If RELAX means start to worry about this team then, yes, by all means relax.

They gave up 60 second half points to Baylor. They are about to play themselves onto the bubble. We should have brought back LE, or at least Wayne Morgan who wouldn't have cost us as much as Prohm.

Good lord.

Good lord? Didn't we lose at home to Baylor last year with the tough and talented players you mentioned? This team is the same as it has been for the last few years. The highs will be high and the lows will be low. Losses will usually be very frustrating. That's what happens when you rely on offense because you can't consistently defend.

Yes, good lord. You completely missed the point and while doing so made some dumb ***, lame attempt to diminish how good those players were. Good lord. And no, Kane and Ejim were not on last year's team.

A much better team that was a legit national title contender with Kane, Ejim, Hogue, and Naz was lucky to go 11-7. Two desperation shots from 9-9.

A year ago we had the same team as now but with very good and critical players like Hogue, Naz, and BDJ. Fred did not know how to fully utilize Edozie, but he was a Big 12 big man who would be by far the best frontcourt defender and rebounder on this team. Adding a guy like him to this year's squad is adding wins.

We aren't the same team as the past few years as the poster said. Roster-wise we are not as good- certainly not as complete. Less shooters, less rebounders and guys that play defense, no guards that can create and finish, no depth, etc. We had a thin margin before, and now it is thinner. Expect, at best, a need to out-play many of our opponents, which is tough to do every game (let alone the 40 minutes some demand here) when short-handed.

I certainly agree with your second point. Fred screwing around with the NBA for two years cost us a sophomore and freshman class= no depth and concern for the future.
