Referees

Those refs were ******* dooshes who should never ever step foot in any basketball court. They were the worst ******* refs I have ever seen. West Virginia could **** us all night, but if we looked at them wrong, we got whistled for it.
They let WV get away with so much **** it wasnt even funny. WV were dirty, dooshbags who ******* about every little call they didnt get.
WV in my opinion are now the team to hate in the Big 12. Between this game and the football team, I do not care about them, and I will never cheer for them again.

End rant.

I am not a big guy to rag on the refs. But officiating has gotten so poor over the last few years it is really starting to have a negative impact on the game.

Horrible officiating tonight. It is hard to officate a game like that but my god, you gotta have some sort of consistency. You have to establish what is and what is not acceptable early on, not this grab bag of random fouls. And WV got screwed badly at times as well, it wasn't biased...it was just bad officiating both ways. Toook away from a hard played game.

I just about lost it watching it from home and Fred just stands there like we're up by 40. That flurry of 3-4 fouls on us in about 5 seconds was horrible.

Did anyone else notice during that last timeout when the one ref was chumming it up good with the WV players? It was like he was their best friend or something? They were like huddled around one of the refs and they were all laughing together.

That happens a lot during games for both teams.

Agree with this, officiating wasn't really biased, but the inconsistent calls hurt us more late, while they may have helped us earlier

That took some balls to call those fouls on the same team. Someone with a DVR look at it. They could have called those on either team, just to settle the physicalness down, and to make it an easier to call game. Huggins dirtied the play up to make it tough on the officials. Retaliations are caught more often than not. WVUs only chance.

Where in the game was it? I still have this on my DVR haha..

lol......you should see what I saw in Winterset last night and you would be amazed for officating........we need to get the ball in the post and score or we will be nothing but a dangerous 3 point team.

When Niang is in, we have a low post threat, but because of his foul trouble tonight, we didn't have that

It all started at like 6:11 when we tried to track down a rebound, saved it in to WVU, WVU then proceeded to travel and pass it off for a 3. Then WVU had a massive flop to get the offensive on us. Then Niang was called for a foul while he was being pushed by #24. He did have his arm wrapped around #34 though but IMO it should have been a no call. Then Ejim gets called for something I can't explain...

Huggins has always dirtied the play up, it is how he teaches defense, he usually plays the same defense as Frank Martin or Mike Cronnin (Cincinnati)... It is the philosophy of "the referees can't call every foul". It is dirty, thug ball. I thought we did a decent job adapting to the officiating style, and Babb was bodying whoever he was defending... Then the officials saw the game getting out of hand (which they caused by calling it loose) and decided to tighten up a bit. And it just turned out poorly.

I think Bob was mad we kept yelling HI BOB!!! and waving at him...

I think the officials did a pretty good job overall. WV plays a physical brand of ball and you can't expect everything to get called
