Wife and I are looking at buying a crib and dresser from Redekers for our nursery room. We were quoted around $2,500 for both and was curious if anyone here has had any experience negotiating on their furniture. Is it unreasable to try an get 10% knocked off the price?

Yeah, this. The kid is going to beat on it for a few years then outgrow it. Save the cash now and buy something nice when the kid is a little older and will treat it better and use it longer.

what shade of gold is the crib going to be? yellowish or true gold?

the nicer the bed the more tempted your kids might be to invite guests over to come see it. if you just throw an air mattress down like the rest of us they won't want to get busy with the coeds while you're at work.

I've bought plenty from Redekers and their stuff is a little better quality than Homemakers in my view and have never had any luck of them taking anything off.

Leave my kids alone with that thing for 30 minutes and they'll have it disassembled and sold for parts.

Fancy crib could save money on teething rings, Duplos and Legos.

Yeah I don’t expect them to move much if at all. They have amish people that make the cribs upon order. I checked an amish site and their cheapest crib is more expensive than Redekers.

I have ordered almost all Amish pieces and checked just like you. Takes 8 weeks or so to come in, but the quality is amazing. I want to say its built in Ohio.
