It's silly but knock your self out 1% er.
I think you totally missed my point. While maybe we are splurging on furniture we spend way less than the average person on other items like cars.

Somehow this thread reminds me of when my know-it-all MIL decided to change one of my boys’ diapers when he was in his crib and neglected to immediately cover up his little man parts. Of course she left the cleaning up the crib part for me while she cleaned up her face but it was worth it.
Did his little man parts ruin a $2500 crib?

If you pay cash for your cars, have money put away for the unborn progeny's college and are confident that they won't come down in price why did you start this thread? To show us all how much you are dropping for an heirloom crib?
I went to Europe awhile back and a buddy said sarcastically, man I wish I could afford to go to Europe. Wish I made as much as you.
I was driving a 2004 SUV while he had a Lexus coupe which I later saw online starting at about $45k for base model.
Don't let other people's comments get you down. They don't know your life.

Exactly! I highly doubt he's THAT concerned with the possibility of saving a couple hundred bucks (and if he was, he either already knew the answer or would be attempting anyway). Could have just left it at 10%, but just had to throw the $2500 in there for good measure lol.
The $2,500 is for the crib and dresser. Yes I threw the dollar amount in there because maybe someone else has bought a nursery set from there recently. They could tell me if the dollar amount seemed high or not.
It’s pretty annoying that you can’t post asking for advice on buying a premium product without it being considered smug or bragging.

You ever heard of a discussion board? Or you just being a ****?Comical coming from the guy who literally can't make a financial decision on his own.
I mean, it's kind of both. Sure, CyCrazy's a bit of an ass, but you also have the habit of starting an exorbitant number of threads about money and financial decisions. You ever heard of a discussion board? Or you just being a ****?
Wife and I are looking at buying a crib and dresser from Redekers for our nursery room. We were quoted around $2,500 for both and was curious if anyone here has had any experience negotiating on their furniture. Is it unreasable to try an get 10% knocked off the price?

Big mistake if you really wanted advice from this crowd. Any CF vet could see that coming before they finished reading the OP. A simple, hey anyone have any luck negotiating at Redeckers, would have sent you down the right path.
The funny thing is most of the people calling me crazy for spending $2,500 to furnish our nursery are the same ones that will go out and borrow 25k-30k on their next car purchase lol.
Nah I like to include details and I’m not going to make my post more vague just to cater to the insecure people on this board. I’ll just have to stick with bogglehead for financial post.
