RECRUITING: Thik Bol information

Normally I would not be for offering a kid whose top choices are Wichita State and Murray State but our front court next year at this point is scary. Having an experienced true big man would be a plus. Also rim protectors are not easy to come by, especially an elite one like Bol. I'd assume he'd be ours if we offer but I could go either way on him at this point. But aren't we already filled up for scholarships next year? Wonder if this means the staff isn't banking on Lard qualifying.

Edit: Or a Monte wait and see guy like mentioned above

Looks like we have too many little guys and not enough big guys on scholly chart.....

So basically to me the situation appears to be that this is the potential Monte scholarship and we're confident that this kid would wait to decide after we know what Monte is going to do.

Or if the NCAA doesn't grant Naz
Or if the Malou situation gets weird

Could be no spots available or up to 3.

Please don't offer someone who has no other high major offers unless he is a freak of nature who is like 14 years old and people don't want to risk offering him yet.

Was Brady Ernest a walk on that was given a scholarship this year? If so, once on scholarship, do they keep their scholarship or is it year by year?

Thik looks a little out of control, but he seemed to have a good handle on the ball, with an ability to score after contact. He looked very active and quick in the paint. I realize that it's JUCO, but he has very good technique in his shot blocking (jumps straight up, good timing, quick off the court). Besides, some of his blocks reminded me of Hogue's, with his arms and legs flailing with effort and attitude. I'll take that in a player coming off the bench at this point.

As far as attrition goes, you can expect Ashton not to be back ( whether a transfer for 5th year PT or scholarship pulled) and I guess that would go to Lard if eligible.

I I wouldn't be shocked if someone else leaves too ( due to future Pt, but not fair to guess that)....if Minte is back, we may have that one more scholarship ( even if Lard makes it) which I would definitely prefer be held for an immediate transfer. That would give us 4 -5 spots for 2017...

all conjecture, of course, but the Ashton thing I think we can bank on

I wrote a direct message on twitter to the members of the team to flail more so CF thinks they are trying harder.

For all the people that wanted Edozie to get minutes, Bol seems to be at least on his level. We brought in two young posts this year and bring two more in the '16 class, this would give them some time to mature.

He looks to below Edozie level IMO.
Better than going unfilled, but I'd wait until June before taking a guy like him. There will be better guys that a Big 12 staff with immediate PT should be able to get.

i think it's easier than that, just direct message the players and tell them that they need to want to win games. And that if they would bother to try and win, they would win.

And score more points, because the team that scores the most wins every time.

and you don't want the other team to score....

and if something does go wrong and you are asked about why it happened, the only thing you can do id invite everyone to your public flogging because you can never say that you'll learn from it.

Just got off the phone with Thik Bol, who visited ISU over the weekend (detailed story coming).

The quick scoop: ISU did not over but might be close. Wichita State is his top choice right now followed by Murray State.

He did tell me that playing with Donovan Jackson is appealing to him so I'm thinking if ISU offers, the Cyclones would have a good chance.

Again, detailed story coming soon.

Let me Prohm over!!!
