Just got off the phone with Thik Bol, who visited ISU over the weekend (detailed story coming).

The quick scoop: ISU did not offer but might be close. Wichita State is his top choice right now followed by Murray State.

He did tell me that playing with Donovan Jackson is appealing to him so I'm thinking if ISU offers, the Cyclones would have a good chance.

Again, detailed story coming soon.

Well we didn't offer, so I doubt it, our offer comes I bet we move to the head of the pack. Honestly unless he has drastically improved, we need to be able to do better, if not then its been fun for these last 5 years.

Did we offer?

Gosh guys, I dumbed, I get it....

Although I tend to agree. Even with Fred I was hopeful we could land one of the highly rated guys they were always after. I feel like relying on the transfer market is not going to work in ISU's favor any longer.

However with this guy, it's not like they are building the class around him. This is a last minute addition to complete the class. If he has potential, it probably worth using a scholarship for 2 years. If he works out, great, it not, its only 2 years and not 4 or 5.

Agreed. We already have a class with several HS guys, just not posts. This is the 2016 class and realistically, we have a post need in this class. Not too likely we are going to 1) get in on a HS post this late, and 2) have that guy come in and offer immediate impact. JUCO post gives us a better shot on both of those counts. Not guaranteed, but a better shot.

Maybe there are other JUCO posts we could go after too, maybe hold out for a 5th-year graduate transfer, but that is also a roll of the dice. This guy seems to have solid defensive potential and would fit well with our needs at the position. Would really pair well with Malou IMO. He could be a 2-year stop-gap to help us fill an immediate need while this recruiting staff goes out and gets on more solid ground with the 2017 and later targets.

I actually like the thought of taking a guy who is an aggressive defender in the paint, considering we lose McKay.

no and we didn't over either
Over Unger. Roger, Roger. We have clearance, Clarence.

For all the people that wanted Edozie to get minutes, Bol seems to be at least on his level. We brought in two young posts this year and bring two more in the '16 class, this would give them some time to mature.

Any specific reason? I'm skeptical about him but just wanted to know your reasoning

There's a difference between offering someone for another body and offering because a guy can legit play. This would be a body offer, which I know we need, but I feel like we can do better.

So basically to me the situation appears to be that this is the potential Monte scholarship and we're confident that this kid would wait to decide after we know what Monte is going to do.
