RECRUITING: Recapping Hallice Cooke's ISU visit

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN
Oregon State's Hallice Cooke, who announced he will transfer a couple weeks ago, told ESPN he would reconsider if Grace were hired.

Well that's an interesting wrinkle to Iowa State's pursuit of Hallice Cooke.

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN
Grace recruited most of the top recruits to Oregon State -- Jared Cunningham, Roberto Nelson, Eric Moreland, Joe Burton.

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN
Grace has also been point man at UCLA on Kevon Looney, Jonah Bolden, Thomas Welsh, 2015 commit Aaron Holiday and 2016 pledge Lonzo Ball.

Maybe CFH should consider Grace to replace Doc.........just sayin'

well, this isn't good news.

I'm going to pull an Iowa and say we didn't want him anyways.

Or, suggest that Fred call this kid up and tell him that either he's on board or not...if he doesn't quit this waffling stuff we don't have a spot for him...we don't need anyone here who's not 100% all in.

Waffling? Let's not go that far since Robinson was just fired today, If he was recruited by this Grace guy, which he probably was, and now he would become the head coach, plus Cooke wouldn't have to sit out a tranfer year, I suppose he's got to at least consider it. Who knows what the people around their program are enticing him with? With all that said, I still hope he becomes a Cyclone!

However, the cupboard is pretty bare in Corvallis. He isn't going to the Big Dance anytime soon there.

So we do not need Thomas, Georges, Morris etc? Do you understand the difference between a recruit and commit? The whole point of this process is to get him "All In". I'd give that process more than a day after his visit.

You'd make a helluva recruiter.

OK, since apparently no one actually reads anymore, when I said this:

I was replying to this:

I didn't figure I needed the jimlad, because I was replying to Tran-y's "pull an Iowa"...so...I was typing what an Iowa fan would say...not that I actually think that myself, but apparently, it was all:

Yes, you do need to distinguish between posting **** you mean and **** you do not mean. Think about that.

You forgot one:

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN 1h
Current Oregon St. players, in meeting w/Oregon AD Bob De Carolis, advocate hire of ex-Beavers & current UCLA asst. David Grace, per source.

But, he originally supposedly wasn't in their top 3 wish list, so hopefully they don't consider Grace:

Jon Rothstein@JonRothstein 18m
Sources: Ben Howland tops Oregon State's list of three to replace Craig Robinson. Here's more @CBSSports http://cbsprt.co/1htjO4X

I read an article with Grace's "story" and I would say it would be a major reach for Oregon State to hire him as their head coach. But then I thought it was a reach when Kansas State hired Martin, so what do I know?
