RECRUITING: New Isaiah Stokes information

They should. So if we had contact with him, after he had signed, and our compliance dept. hadn't known, what happens as far as legal/illegal recruitment?

Doesn't necessarily mean it is our fault. What if FL's compliance dept. didn't report it correctly?

Maybe an Iowa State guy "leaked" it so Stokes would get mad at them and then pick Iowa State?

I'm not sure you can keep signing secret. Commits sure. Just like the football staff is doing with a kid right now and what they tried to do with Jacob Park.

But once they sign, I believe schools need to announce that stuff. I've never heard of a situation where a kid signed and it wasn't announced.

This. Exactly. That's why this situation is sooo strange

Where there can't be three different rules. I'm confused. One poster says the school has to announce it, one says a 2 week grace period, one says we can't visit a signed player......well how would our coaches know not to visit, if it wasn't announced????

Also, I have never seen anything about a two week grace period for letter's of intent. That would certainly be weird. Could he sign it before the deadline but then send it in later?

When is the permissible time period for signing an NLI?

You may sign an NLI only during the designated signing period. If you sign an NLI outside the appropriate signing period, the NLI shall be considered invalid. Presuming you are within the permissible signing period, you and your parent or legal guardian must sign the NLI and financial aid agreement within 7 days of the issuance date noted on the NLI signing page. You may find the appropriate signing period for your sport on the NLI website:

http://www.nationalletter.org/signingDates/index.html

Dates there. Straight from the NLI website.
