Recruit Lists v2.0

It is good they visited together and adding 2 PG's (one being a JC) plan should have been explained to Xavier and his Dad at the visit by Prohm, thus it shouldn't eliminate ISU from his list.
I don't agree that it makes it more likely he'll sign as he has already removed other schools from his list once they added other HS PG's. It is obvious he is alright with coming in as a back up but would like the opportunity for early playing time. It is more completion at his position early in his career something that Illinois for instance doesn't have (of course that all changes if they add Moore or a different PG) which will influence any player.

If X is only going to sign with teams that have zero PGs on the roster he's most likely limiting himself to bad programs. No program in good health has no pgs on the roster. If MM leaves and we hadn't signed Jackson we'd have had no PGs on the roster for next season.

Kind of an odd situation with Simpson and Moore. Both of them have recently visited Illinois, and you would assume Illinois would take either, so if you were Simpson or Moore, if you really liked Illinois, wouldn't you want to commit before the other does?

Illinois should be a blue blood as easy as recruiting should be for them. But instead they are Illinois.

You are entitled to your opinion. But wrong I am not. Xavier Simpson made his official visit with Iowa State on August 7th. We didn't offer Donovan Jackson until August 9th.

Not true - that is when it was reported. It was discussed on here that he was offered back in early July. There was a lengthy discussion on here on why it was being reported on 8/9 since we offered a full month earlier.

You are wrong, Hines, CW and Alex have all reported he has had an offer since early July (and offered a direct quote from him stating that) it just never got reported until he visited as nobody knew about it.

My picks for a awesome 2016 squad would be:
White
Malou/A. Cook
Jackson
Simpson
Young
Long
Like stated before Curry and Horne as substitutes. I would be super stoked but white is a must have!

Why is White a must have? Don't hold your breath on him.

His July offer was mentioned on CycloneFanatic back on July 14: http://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161138&p=4713817&viewfull=1#post4713817 . So actually, people here did know about it then, but it wasn't widely discussed for whatever reason.

So which of the targets are the home run swings? All appear solid but None seem out of isu's league, so to speak. I don't notice any that have that 'crown jewel of the class' air to them.

Simpson, A. Cook, Malou and White/Horne would be a ridiculously good class along with Jackson and Solomon. Guessing it won't work out that well.

I'm a little surprised more aren't talking about A. Cook. He's exactly what we need inside and has a great offer list. Guessing it's his top 14 list and spring announcement that are hurting enthusiasm for his commitment.

Xavier Simpson is the crown jewel.

I think Simpson would fit that bill for the most part. Just my opinion. He's the highest rated, at the position that Prohm cares about the most. But you're right, no recruit seems to be the definitive "Crown Jewel" so to speak. I think that goes in part with how we are changing the recruiting philosophy though. More 4-stars and solid/high-rated 3-stars rather than striking out on the big name blue-chippers.

White has a Kansas offer so that's nothing to sneeze at.
