They visited together, it's always been known we wanted both and everyone is reporting were still recruiting Simpson hard as of yesterday. I'm guessing we don't end up getting him but Jackson has nothing to do with that

If anything, I'm more optimistic that Simpson will sign with ISU as the addition of a JUCO guard (Jackson) to the roster had to have been discussed during Simpson's official visit and throughout his recruitment.

It is good they visited together and adding 2 PG's (one being a JC) plan should have been explained to Xavier and his Dad at the visit by Prohm, thus it shouldn't eliminate ISU from his list.
I don't agree that it makes it more likely he'll sign as he has already removed other schools from his list once they added other HS PG's. It is obvious he is alright with coming in as a back up but would like the opportunity for early playing time. It is more completion at his position early in his career something that Illinois for instance doesn't have (of course that all changes if they add Moore or a different PG) which will influence any player.

I agree, I don't think Prohm would have had them both on campus together if it was a one or the other thing. Seems more likely that he would be telling them how it would work with both of them at ISU together. I would be more concerned about Xavier if we had signed another HS PG. Since we signed a JC PG, I don't think it is that big of a deal. Most college rosters are going to have at least one returning PG and if not, they are not going to count on a single freshman recruit to come in and run the show.

Malou is officially visiting October 31 for the Texas game (Homecoming at ISU).

I think the possibility we have both Monte & Jackson next year has to be a factor in considering us. A deal killer? Probably not but certainly a plus in the Illinois column. Now given Jackson can play the 2 and we lose Naz for sure their are minutes to be had. In 2016 we will have Cooke, Thomas, Jackson, Babb, maybe Monte already st the guard spots and we are still in the hunt for other guards. He knows 2016 could be tough to get big minutes if Monte stays so it is a crap shoot. I think Monte has his head set on leaving but that can all change. I think the plus is even if Monte stays he gets a year of learning under an All American and 2017 he could get major minutes and have a decent chance at starting and 18/19 (and 19/20 if he isnt in the NBA, given Prohms history with PGs I think it isnt unrealistic to think he could be an early departer) be the man on a good team and position himself well for the NBA.

Kind of an odd situation with Simpson and Moore. Both of them have recently visited Illinois, and you would assume Illinois would take either, so if you were Simpson or Moore, if you really liked Illinois, wouldn't you want to commit before the other does?

You are entitled to your opinion. But wrong I am not. Xavier Simpson made his official visit with Iowa State on August 7th. We didn't offer Donovan Jackson until August 9th.
