@AlexHalsted: Just got word that Iowa State has offered 2016 SG Jakolby Long (Okla.). He is planning to take an official visit to Iowa State on Oct. 3.
 
@jsnipe43: Just had a great talk with Coach Otzelberger from Iowa state about my scholarship offer and how much he loves my game

Hope he loves his visit here and would love to land some guys in September

It's impossible for ISU to beat Kansas for a recruit so you're pretty delusional if you're not worried at all. I think Kansas ends up with this guy. For as much momentum as Prohm had in recruiting at the beginning it all just seems like bad news over and over again.

Prohm still has a lot to prove on the recruiting trail. Bill Self is the shark rather to "screwe thibngs" up for us.

I'll get worried if Kansas offers him. Not yet.

Not to **** in the well, but isn't that how it worked with Diallo? Otz and ISU were one of the first programs to get in touch with Diallo and Self swooped in. As long as KU in big 12, ISU will never outrecruit them. Until then, I hate to say it, we recruit like we do our football players. Beating out subpar d1 and d2 programs for recruits.

There is no way you can compare our basketball and football recruiting. This basketball program is NOT beating out "subpar d1 and d2 programs" for recruits.

Well I will add to this that Diallo knew from inside info that Fred wasn't sure if he would stay! That there hurt all the time for recruiting and through out all the hope for him coming to ISU. If Fred would of stayed there is a most certainty that he would be fighting NCAA in Ames right now. If Prohm is very successful which I know we all hope he is then we will have better success to land 5 stars, I see us landing one in 3 yrs or so in the PG position.

You don't need to land 5 stars IMO. But we need to do better than what we've done recently. Landing 1-2 4 stars per year and then filling in with transfers and jucos will always be a more realistic option than landing top 15 HS classes consistently
