Recruit Lists v2.0

Yep...**** happens. That group of guys will be a year older, wiser and, you better believe, carry a MAJOR chip on their shoulder.

All I'm saying is, assuming the guys perform how we all know they can next year, if a new coach was at the helm for it, that's a pretty good story for future recruits, no? Especially if said new coach, and presumably one new staff member (at least) love the recruiting game?

Didn't seem to work very well for Eustachy. Didn't the recruiting dry up after Floyd left?

Not really. Larry had some damn good classes ripped right out from under him. The 2000-2001 class was ranked 3rd in the nation. Ernest Brown never made it to campus and Shane Power (who was really good) eventually transferred. Recruiting classes were also nationally ranked in 2003 and 2004 (Morgan eventually coached the 2004 group).

Maverick announced his top 6, not surprising ISU didn't make the cut.
(Sure St. John's making it will raise some eyebrows but read his dad played for them which helps Matt A.)

@NYPost_Brazille: Top 50 wing Maverick Rowan announces top six, and #sjubb is on it, along with N.C. State, UNC, Louisville, Wisconsin and UCLA.

@AlexHalsted: Four-star PF Tyler Cook tells me he's "not sure yet" if Iowa State will remain an option with Fred Hoiberg's departure.

If that rule isn't passed this year, it wouldn't probably affect next year anyway. We better pray that we can take 1-2 immediate transfers next year, unless we somehow land 1-2 sit out transfers this year.

I'm not really sure when the JUCO showcases are this summer, but I bet our new coach will get a couple of big bodies at least. There is still a lot of talent out there for 2016.

I would be surprised if we didn't get cut. He probably knows Mann is out, and doesn't know Prohm.

Maybe hiring Grayer would get us back on the list.

Oh well, it realistically was never happening.

With the timing of this cut, it just makes sense to bring it down to around 3 schools remaining.

You make this cut during this time to figure out the weakest link in the 5 you had before. You hear that a team you were very involved with having a huge change in head coaching, not to mention a new recruiter.

The link now to Iowa State is really Grayer, which he is currently not part of the organization

Morris, who probably won't even be at school when Bridges is there

And Mann, which is very risky to assume he will be here.

It just makes sense at this time to rule Iowa State out even though I think he would fit perfectly in this run and gun system

He cut his list from 5 to 8? I guess if anything that might mean he's still pretty open.
